Performance of Slack Across Market Features
Slack Likes & Dislikes
Intuitive Huddles: The low-friction nature of huddles - now with automated AI meeting notes and multi-person sharing - makes them far superior to formal apps. Canvas Integration: Canvas has matured into a powerful way to store persistent data directly alongside a channel, reducing the need to jump out to other note taking tools. Third-party Ecosystem: Slack's app directory remains unmatched. Whether it's triggering a Jira ticket, deploying code via Github or pulling data, the integrations feel native rather than bolted on
Ease to use, integration with devices and integration with other tools, specially monitoring tools
1. Communication. It's great for a working group to keep everyone up to date. 2. Channels. Probably my favorite feature. No matter how many were used, it never felt like too many, and it allowed for direct looks at needed information. 3. Mobile friendly. Was able to be on the go and still keep up.
Premium pricing and search is difficult
The new sales model from salesforce and usage disclosure agreements are forcing us to stop slack usage. In their new salesforce contracts, terms such as using our conversation for training their models are present and we cannot remove them. Concerns a lot our legal and compliance departments. Unable to conditional access only to corporate devices.
1. Some found it hard to get used to. Most didn't and we thought it was 100% better than lengthy email threads. 2. Some had a hard time finding saved files. 3. Maybe a handier guide available.
