Performance of Slack Across Market Features
Slack Likes & Dislikes
- Real-time commubnication: Slack allows for real-time messaging, allowing for quick quesitons and answers, instant feedback, and fster decision-making. If I ping someone a question, I typically hear back within 1-hour. - Centralized information and knowledge: Slack has a great search functionality. I can quickly find pass message, files, and conversations, so I can quickly find answers to questions without having to message anyone. - Flexibility and customization: I love that I can personalize my notifications and set a status. I have notifications set on important slack channels to go to my phone. When I'm OOO, I can quickly turn off notifications and set an away status. - Remote Work: I'm a remote employee along with my entire team, and I could not imagine onboarding or doing day-to-day work without Slack. When I was a new hire, I could quickly ping my new hire buddy for answers or search in Slack.
The ease of use, anybody can pickup and use. It can also be customised easily so I can manage notifications and organise channels as I wish. The fact that the platform has a search function is also extremely useful as without it items would be lost completely.
Sharing knowledge and history research that allows to retrieve old conversations to find out past product's road map or product status. it also allows to include external business partner which enhances our business operations.
Notification Fatigue: Slack messages never end and notifications can be overwhelming at time. It's easy to get distracted, which can interrupt deep work. I will also receive pings out of work hours. Off-Topic chatter: While a great place for team bonding, the informal nature of Slack can lead to excessive off-topic conversations and distractions, making it diffcult to find important information. Information Gets Lost: Since there is so much information and conversations move so quickly, important discussions and files can get buried under new messages. The search tool is good, but there are opportunities to continue to improve it.
Keeping track of all messages and the flow of said messages means important updates can be missed. I feel that sometimes information can get lost in all the different channels and even with the search function things are hard to find. Notifications can also become a distraction and you're constantly filtering where they came from was it work related or a social conversation etc
disappointed to know that admin can find ways to access internal communications or archived communications between employees, a certain level of privacy should be respected. I also think you should get inspired by sharepoint where you should improve your storage info (or better integrate with other tools like Notion, or navigating through a catalogue of product information)

Slack Enhances Internal Communication But Raises Employee Privacy Concerns
I have been using slack for about 5 years across my current company and the previous one. overall, my experience has been very positive, as slack is excellent to preserve internal communication, collaborate with colleagues and stay alligned as a team. that said, I am disappointed by the fact that admins have ways to access internal communication between employees. while I understand this may be necessary in certain contexts, it does affect the feeling of privacy and openness that slack is otherwise so effective - UI/UX Designer<50M USDSoftwareReview Source
Integration Issues and Message Status Uncertainty Present Challenges Despite Useful Tools
Overall I like slack. It helps me to communicate with my team members and also helps me to make them aware of my situations in case I am out of office or I am having connection issues. - Data Analyst1B-10B USDSoftwareReview Source

Slack Enables Seamless Collaboration But Notification Volume Can Become Overwhelming
I have used a few different communication platforms and Slack is by far my favorite. There are plenty of features to utilize and collaboration between cross functional partners has been made seamless. Slack is very intuitive and most people should be able to pick it up.
