Overview

Product Information on Microsoft Teams

Updated 13th October 2025

What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration software that integrates chat, video meetings, file storage and application integration to facilitate communication and teamwork. It supports real-time messaging, voice and video conferencing, and threaded conversations, enabling users to collaborate on projects and share files within team channels. The software allows integration with various third-party and Microsoft 365 applications, providing a centralized workspace for document management and workflow automation. Microsoft Teams is designed to support remote and distributed work environments, addressing business needs for secure communication, coordination, and productivity among organizations of varying sizes.

Microsoft Teams Pricing

Microsoft Teams software uses a subscription-based pricing model with multiple plans, including a free version with limited features and paid tiers that offer enhanced functionality such as advanced collaboration tools, greater storage, and integration with other Microsoft 365 services. Pricing varies based on the number of users and chosen plan, with options for monthly or annual billing.

“Microsoft Teams Simplifies Collaboration But Faces Usability and Performance Challenges”

Oct 1, 2025
My experience with Microsoft Teams has been very positive. Its makes daily communication ans collaboration simple, with reliable chat, video calls, and file sharing. I Like how well it integrates with Outlook and other Microsoft 365 apps, which keeps everything connected in one place. Sometimes the number of notifications and settings can feel overwhelming, but overall it has improved how my team works together.

“Comprehensive Features in Teams Complicate User Experience and Telephony Management”

3.0
Jan 15, 2026
Microsoft Teams as a UC tool gives a solid communications platform, with some challenging user experience. Internal communication is definitely the strongest aspect; external telephony is significantly improved from early offerings, but not as robust or easy to manage as other dedicated telephony providers. Since Teams offers so many differnt things in one application, and due to the 'app' structure where different apps can be available / added / embedded to different parts of Teams, it can become very difficult for the user to nagivate without active guidance and training.

Microsoft Teams Likes & Dislikes

Like

What i like most about Microsoft Teams is how seamlessly it brings everything together in one place. I can chat, join video meetings, and share files without switching tools, and the integration with Outlook and other Microsoft 365 apps makes collaboration very smooth. I also value how easy it is to work with colleagues in real time, whether we're documents or running quick discussions.

Like

The breadth of available services and apps is comprehensive and powerful. Teams is offering the concept of UC effectively, with all communications tools gathere together in one place and in most cases offering interchangeable communication flows. For example, taking an external caller and subsequently seamlessly routing them through internal contacts with no apparent separation between telephony users and Teams users is a huge advantage.

Like

What I like most about the Microsoft teams is its very easy-to-use interface and how it helps maintain clear communication and collaboration across teams.

Dislike

What i like the least about Microsoft Teams is that it can feel heavy and slow at times, especially on older devices. The interface can be cluttered, which makes it harder to find simple functions quickly. I also notice that video and audio quality sometimes drop when the internet connection isn't strong, and integrating non-Microsoft tools is not always smooth.

Dislike

The app- and icon-based interface structure in Teams often leads to confusing or unintuitive user flows. Where a more dedicated provider has stronger contextual and visual clues to the user on how to achieve something, Teams often buries desired functionality behind icons and menus. Many things are only conditionally available in the UI based on back-end settings, and the UI itself often changes as updates are made. This means a user can easily get frustrated not knowing if something is not visible / not available beacuse the UI has changed or because they don't have access to it. Teams also does not offer a proper contact centre solution: while a multitude of apps are avialble and custom content can be added, a single view expected by a contact centre agent with contextual information, link to CRM/cases, etc is not natively available in Teams which defeats the purpose of UC in a contact centre context.

Dislike

Occasionally, I witness the notifications getting delayed or the messages not syncing immediately across devices is the only thing I dislike the most. Otherwise, it's fine.

What Your Peers Are Saying About Microsoft Teams

Communications Manager
One of our main issues today is the future of telephony. We have different solutions and technologies in place to satisfy various needs. For example, the office does not have the same requirements as the production area. We have decided to harmonize telephony worldwide using Microsoft Teams telephony. However, we are uncertain about the best approach for the production area, which has minimal needs (just making and receiving calls) and currently uses simple DECT phones. We are considering whether to continue with DECT, switch to DECT linked to Teams, or use smartphones with Teams. Can someone share what they use in their production areas?
IT Analyst
As we modernize and consolidate services, it's important not to lose sight of the core purpose behind them. In a manufacturing environment, telephony serves as a critical fallback communication tool—often the only means of reaching emergency services when all other infrastructure fails. Additionally, some manufacturing operations require hotline telephony, where simply lifting the handset automatically dials preset numbers. Given this, we must minimize potential points of failure and ensure seamless interoperability between modern and traditional systems. My take would be, 1. Implement a hardwired PBX system for hotlines, ensuring reliable emergency communication. Use fixed phones for common services and DECT for cordless extensions in the production plant to maintain mobility without compromising reliability. 2. Integrate the PBX system with Teams or an IP telephony (IPT) solution to enhance interoperability. 3. Leverage smartphones as an additional option where applicable, keeping in mind that most off-the-shelf models are not intrinsically safe for use in production areas. This approach balances cost-effectiveness with functionality—eliminating recurring subscription costs for plant extensions while maintaining a unified number plan. Moreover, DECT provides nearly double the coverage of Wi-Fi, operates on a separate frequency to prevent interference, and contributes less to floor noise, making it a more suitable choice for industrial environments.

Efficient Teamwork On Microsoft Teams Sometimes Disrupted By Notification Delays

    5.0
    Nov 3, 2025
My overall experience with Microsoft Teams has been really great. It has made communication and collaboration within our organization much more convenient. I use it regularly for my day-to-day professional work to chat with my colleagues and also to call them and connect with them to ask any doubts whenever and from wherever I am which is really cool since I work in hybrid mode. I also use it for sharing many files with my teammates. This platform is really very easy to use. It also tracks my meetings and saves them in my team's calendar from where I'm able to daily access and see what meetings are scheduled for the day and be prepared accordingly. It also gives a notification every 15 minutes before my meeting starts to keep me aware about it which is also a very nice feature. Overall, it's a very efficient tool to communicate, share files, data, chat, call, attend meetings and it definitely has enhanced teamwork much easier!

Microsoft Teams is a powerful tool that has transformed collaboration since its launch. Connecting with global and local peers is now easy and efficient beyond meetings. Teams offer a wide variety of applications. Bold recognition features provide colleagues with opportunities to express gratitude. A whiteboard while sharing the screen in meetings gives the edge to idea convection. Overall, working with Microsoft Teams is a great experience

Feature Packed and Efficient Communication and Collaboration Tool.

    5.0
    Aug 12, 2025
Microsoft Teams has been an invaluable platform to maintaining our productivity. Offers an excellent range of communication and collaboration options, eg chat, Teams, sharing, file sharing, remote meetings, calls and video sharing. Makes our internal communication seamless for example, with video chat we are able to broadcast presentations in a true virtual meeting environment, allowing all participants to interact and share ideas similar to a face to face conversation. Much appreciation for its user friendliness, high quality video capabilities and multi account support.Provides lot of customization options eg one can create custom themes and logos. Also it helps to reduce costs by eliminating the need for having many separate collaboration and communication tools.
