Product Information on Zoom Meetings

Updated 5th May 2026

What is Zoom Meetings?

Zoom Meetings is a software designed to facilitate online meetings, video conferencing, and collaborative communication across different devices. The software enables users to host and join virtual meetings with HD video and audio, supporting screen sharing, chat, and recording capabilities for sessions. It provides features such as breakout rooms, meeting scheduling, and integration with calendar systems, which help organizations and individuals connect remotely for business discussions, team collaboration, and presentations. Zoom Meetings addresses the need for secure, scalable, and easy-to-access virtual meeting environments, allowing distributed teams and remote participants to effectively communicate and collaborate in real time.

Zoom Meetings Pricing

Zoom Meetings software uses a tiered subscription pricing model, offering several plans with varying features based on usage needs. The software provides options including a free basic plan with limited meeting duration and participant capacity, as well as paid plans that increase limits and add administrative or advanced functionalities. Pricing is generally structured per host per month or per year, depending on the selected plan.

CRITICAL

“Difficulty Managing Participant Controls Raises Concerns About Zoom Usability”

3.0
May 7, 2026
I signed up to manage the Zoom presence on the National Day of Prayer. However, when I started the meeting I was notified someone was 'waiting' to be admitted. Right away that was frustrating. I was going back and forth several times trying to see if someone was meeting. There was 'crickets' as far as information in that regard. I have no idea if people attempted and gave up - all it showed on my phone was the video.

Performance of Zoom Meetings Across Market Features

Zoom Meetings Likes & Dislikes

Like

Ease of use and most of my clients/colleagues already have the system. No complaints from my invited guests about start up or set up or entering the meetings.

Like

I have found it in the past to be good but there are some frustrating elements to it I got to admit (as described above) or even the 2FA - multi-factor authentication - practically got me locked out where I may not have been able to start the meeting - very frustrating too. That's what happened to the lady last year who asked me to handle it this year.

Like

The functionality, flexibility, and reliability are the three things that come to mind. Zoom almost always works. I also love the troubleshooting tools built into the web portal. It's always great to find out who caused the performance issues

Dislike

--while it is user friendly, I feel like I need to go to the zoom.com account to plan all meetings and copy the invite to paste into my calendar invites. If there's an easier way, perhaps they could more proactively provide tips like some other software does. --AI services aren't completely clear to me --Better tutoring --Seems like I need to hunt for recordings sometimes.

Dislike

Inability to bypass on the password requirement or not to force people to wait. Also, I had to go to AI just to find out how to disable people from 'sharing'. I should be able to set that by default and also have others not show their video etc. but it's not clear.

Dislike

Sometimes when sharing our screens the share bar gets in the way of some of the applications. For Mac users, we have seen that they will not share the correct screen. On the admin side, we noticed that accounts are not getting deleted when people leave the organization. The account is unlicensed and access is not possible, but we would prefer the former employee's account to be completely removed from the tenant.

What Your Peers Are Saying About Zoom Meetings

Do Zoom meetings disrupt your team’s workflows?
CIO / Managing Partner
We've gone through a different way of working where if you're not careful, you end up with back-to-back Zoom meetings. You have no chance to actually get any work done because all you do is you're jumping from one meeting to another, with barely any time to take a break or walk around. I'm sure many other people have had times where your back's aching because you haven't moved enough and haven't walked around the room. And there are two schools of thought: those who don't really care if they have Zoom meetings all day and then turn off. And then there are those who think, "I need to get that work done." And they'll carry on into the evening just trying to get the work done. We've got to find a balance.

Is being overbooked on Zoom meetings affecting employee mental health?
Senior Executive Advisor
Since March of 2020, when we all switched over to digital, the number of meetings has gone up exponentially, right? Everyone is double or triple booked. Employees are really, really struggling to keep up with not only attending a lot of meetings in the day but also logging in longer hours afterwards to be more productive. Because when they're in the meeting, they can't actually do the work that they're supposed to do. We used to have this to a certain extent when we were physically in offices, but it's suddenly swung the pendulum to the other side entirely because the barrier to entry for setting up a meeting is so low. You just have to click a video conferencing button, and then automatically, you have a session created. You don't have to contend now for conference rooms or transition time.  I recently conducted a survey, across all industry verticals, on meeting overload. This was not just organizations that were in the cloud-native space, but people who had a legacy footprint or who were in warehouses and that had to go to a digital footprint immediately: people in retail, in hospitality, in travel, all the various sectors. I suspected this but what I found was alarming. Over 65% of the respondents reported that they had been spending at least five hours in video conference per day on average. Five hours. And over 82% of the workforce reported that they were double- or triple-booked at least once a week. I think almost a quarter of them said that they experienced this meeting contention at least once a day. With so many hours of work being spent in video conferencing meetings, they were starting to log in more time because all their performance metrics and productivity are measured by their throughput or velocity or the number of widgets they create. So their OKRs and their KPIs did not change, but how they worked fundamentally shifted. Almost 88% of the respondents said that, on average, they were spending at least four additional hours per week to catch up with their deliverables, and I want to say almost 65% of the people spent more than one and a half hours a day. So that's 7.5 hours a week, nearly an additional day of work just to catch up, because of the meetings and the conferences. And if you extrapolate it, that's two-thirds of our workforce worked almost 300 extra hours since the pandemic broke out. During that time, the pay didn't increase, expectations didn't change, but the amount of work people received increased, and stress skyrocketed. One of the easiest ways to reduce the stress and make sure that your people are healthier and have tangible results is tackling this sprawl.

Zoom has worked exceptionally well for us. It's the best meeting platform we have used in the organization. It's really easy to set up meetings and, most importantly, set up meetings with people outside of our organization.
