Buying a new Global ATS is a critical and expensive decision for any organisation and having started with a long list of 10 suppliers and a range of very different products, including the incumbent, it was critical to choose a new partnership that would be in place to support the strategic aspirations of our business but also of the Resourcing function for at least 5-10 years. As a result it was key to award the contract to a partner who we felt "got us" as an organisation and aligned to our values, culture and ambitions. It was clear from the outset that SmartRecruiters were that partner and this has proven to be the case throughout. From the RFP process, through contracting, inplementation to now 18 months into our partnership we have been extremely pleased with both the product and the support provided. We operate as a true partnership, holding each other to account and truly listening and understanding each other's perspectives.

“Easy Navigation Contrasts With Gaps in Candidate Management Tools”

We use this product for global recruitment. SmartRecruit has a lot of basic features that make it easy to navigate new roles and build out positions, while offering configuration and streamlined processes with onboarding and background checks. It lacks in resume screening support, advance candidate pipeline referral options, review and skill sharing within the system, and the ability to archive positions. It also lacks the ability to use non-Outlook emails to sync availability making it difficult to coordinate in-house under one calendar.

SmartRecruiters for SAP SuccessFactors Likes & Dislikes

Like

SmartRecruiters is a very future-focused platform without being too innovative that you have to deploy all the products and features to get the best from it. We have been impressed with the ability to highly customise what we use / don't use and how we implement what works for us, when it's relevant. Avoiding an all or nothing approach has been liberating in terms of being able to deploy the right functionality at the right pace for our business, stakeholders and candidates. We also like the way in which SmartRecruiters Marketplace provides a pre-integrated solution for most of the things we need to build out, relying on few / no custom APIs.

Like

It's very intuitive and easy to navigate with minimal training or experience. SR has a great ability when responding via Outlook, it goes straight to SR, including attachments. This allows a lot of time saved and confusion going back and forth between systems. This also allows the use of Outlook features as SR email and communications is very basic.

Dislike

There are some core / basic recruitment functionality that is still missing, like being able to manage data and analytics at a position level rather than a vacancy level. The focus for development on new AI capabilities seems to have been at the expense of fixing some of this more basic functionality. We have worked around the lack of functionality rather than being given the fix

1. Lack of resume screening and sorting abilities 2. Lack of ability to easily move candidates across roles, including previous roles, notes, skills and attachments. 3. No ability to archive roles, even if inactive, you see them all.

    SuccessFactors Recruiting has always been a reliable, easy to use product both from an administrator standpoint as well as for end users. It's easy to customize to meet our (ever-changing!) requirements and the reporting insights from the built in analytics are useful to our recruiting team when making decisions and updating policies. Also, there is an ease to managing the candidate date base that makes our recruiters feel like their time is spent more productively. The ease of integrations available (background screening, offer letter management etc...) make the workflow seamless and support productivity.
