SmartRecruiters is a very future-focused platform without being too innovative that you have to deploy all the products and features to get the best from it. We have been impressed with the ability to highly customise what we use / don't use and how we implement what works for us, when it's relevant. Avoiding an all or nothing approach has been liberating in terms of being able to deploy the right functionality at the right pace for our business, stakeholders and candidates. We also like the way in which SmartRecruiters Marketplace provides a pre-integrated solution for most of the things we need to build out, relying on few / no custom APIs.
It's very intuitive and easy to navigate with minimal training or experience. SR has a great ability when responding via Outlook, it goes straight to SR, including attachments. This allows a lot of time saved and confusion going back and forth between systems. This also allows the use of Outlook features as SR email and communications is very basic.

There are some core / basic recruitment functionality that is still missing, like being able to manage data and analytics at a position level rather than a vacancy level. The focus for development on new AI capabilities seems to have been at the expense of fixing some of this more basic functionality. We have worked around the lack of functionality rather than being given the fix
1. Lack of resume screening and sorting abilities 2. Lack of ability to easily move candidates across roles, including previous roles, notes, skills and attachments. 3. No ability to archive roles, even if inactive, you see them all.

Buying a new Global ATS is a critical and expensive decision for any organisation and having started with a long list of 10 suppliers and a range of very different products, including the incumbent, it was critical to choose a new partnership that would be in place to support the strategic aspirations of our business but also of the Resourcing function for at least 5-10 years.
