My experience with Unily has been fantastic. The service has been exceptional and the support is second to none. Our CSM is always on hand to answer questions, solve queries and generally bounce ideas off. They've encouraged us to collaborate with their other customers, also, to help one another with our experiences. In terms of the product, I am an absolute advocate of Unily. I have seen it evolve over the years, going from strength to strength in terms of its product offering; well designed and useful features, engagement widgets, user experiences and more.

The product has an abundance of excellent features; I particularly like the widgets that allow a more unique experience for the user, based upon selected preferences. It's easy to create and design pages in the CMS. I like the OOTB integrations, such as with Teams & O365 - it allows for better collaboration cross platform. The kudos feature has been a big winner for us, it is used daily and valued by our colleagues. The layout allows you to brand the site exactly as you wish, which has enabled us to create a welcoming, modern and engaging site. The IT support via Unily's ServiceNow is excellent, they are always quick to respond and resolve issues.

The Content Management System (CMS) is very intuitive. It has all the robust organization, permissions, and security features needed for the admin role while also being simple enough for employees to go in and manage their content in a visual, drag-and-drop page editor. We find a lot of value in the personalization and targeting features of Unily - offering personalized home page experiences, machine translations on all content, and surfacing news that's most relevant to employees based on their topics of interest. There are powerful community building aspects such as commenting, reactions, social channels (also integrations with Teams, Viva, etc.), and the Insights feature, which we use as an internal blog platform for employee-generated content. While you have the ability to create templates for pages, it's nice that you're not locked into a few layouts. The page editor and content views offer tremendous design flexibility so you can build a platform to suit the design and content needs of your business. The mobile app gives us a powerful (and easy to manage) tool to engage front-line field workers who don't spend much time in front of a computer. Unily can be as simple or sophisticated as you need it to be. You can start with the basics and then grow as you go to add more features and functionality when you're ready. Beyond implementation, Unily also has incredible customer service. We are well supported by our dedicated Customer Service Manager, thorough training documentation on the Universe customer site, 24/7 service desk, and the annual Unite conference that brings the customer community together.

I would prefer it if you didn't have to pay for add-on features. It would be nice to have everything as part of the main package. Having to pay for new features feels unfair when we already pay for the product. I think native sign-in would also be helpful.

-Some of the design capabilities could be improved as in when you are writing news stories the design box has very small dimensions as well as the emails and pop ups. It would be great to be able to live edit and design directly on the news story.

The out-of-the-box functionality is excellent, but sometimes you might need a developer to help with highly-specific custom needs. Because Unily is so adaptable and quick to improve, there can sometimes be a learning curve to keep up with the pace of change. Translations need to be added one page at a time. It would be nice if they could be added with one click for the entire site.

    Unily: A Blend of Sophistication and Simplicity

    We meet regularly with our Unily Customer Success Manager. She shares monthly analytics reports, best practices, and is our biggest advocate. Unily also has a great 24-hour support desk for technical issues that come up. Beyond support, Unily offers an abundance of customer training - from their Universe documentation, training, and accreditation site to bringing their customer community together at the annual Unite conference. They seek out and act on customer feedback for product improvements and innovations in the Product Portal. In the past year, they have also increased transparency around the product roadmap. Of all our various communications vendors over the years, Unily by far has the best customer support experience.

    Unily's client support goes above and beyond. Our CSM is knowledgeable, responsive, and dedicated to helping us enhance our platform. When a ticket is submitted for support, the teams are helpful, courteous, and timely. Unily has the technological development and resources of a large company, but the personal delivery of a small company. You routinely interact with the same team members when working through tickets, providing a more personalized-feeling experience.
