WOO Commerce has given us a platform that has allowed us to build a successful eCommerce brand from scratch. From the very beginning, where we needed a simple and easy-to-use platform for both internal teams and customers alike, to what is now a much more technical setup, WOO Commerce has given us all the capability we've needed to scale at pace. Not only that, the support team we work directly with has been fantastic and has a genuine desire to resolve our issues, suggest improvements to our setup, and ultimately grow our revenue numbers.

“Store management is simple, though add-on reliance increases complexity”

Overall, my experience with WooCommerce has been fairly good. It's flexible, easy to integrate with WordPress, and works well for setting up an online store without a huge upfront investment. The platform gives enough customization options for small and mid size businesses, especially if you already work within wordpress ecosystem. At the same time, there are areas where the product could feel more complete out of box, especially for the users who are not very technical.

Simple storefront setup and broad discounts benefit small businesses

    5.0
    May 28, 2026
For a free ecommerce setup, Woocommerce is the go-to in terms of its accessibility, support and ease of use. It created the perfect simple storefront for small brands. The in-built promotions are diverse enough to allow for multiple discount types and API access is useful when creating triggers from orders with the likes or email marketing paltforms.

I consider WooCommerce to be one of the most complete eCommerce solutions available on the market. Its flexibility and the enormous community behind it make it a solid choice for stores that require full control over their platform and advanced customization

WooCommerce Likes & Dislikes

Like

The ease of use, alongside the technical design capabilities that it has that a low-skilled front-end web builder such as myself to easily implement the solutions needed to grow our business.

Like

It's the flexibility and control WooCommerce offers. It supports a large number of plugins, themes and integrations, which make it easy to customize the store based on business requirements. The setup process is also quite straightforward and managing products, orders, and payment is generally very simple once everything is configured properly.

Like

Woocomerce is accessible to anyone for free, allowing small brands to compete against the larger players by bolting on a simple storefront to their existing WordPress site. It's simple to use but still offers a wide range of configuration settings to meet most requirements of small businesses.

Dislike

I don't have any dislikes per se. Over the years, we've needed to do a lot of work on site speed due to the bloat of some of the plugins we've needed to use to work alongside WOO Commerce - however, that has been drastically improving month by month, and WOO has done a lot of work to move this forward.

Dislike

One thing I dislike is that many important features are either dependent on additional plugins or locked behind paid extensions. Even basic improvements around cart management, checkout optimization and customer experience often require installing multiple add-ons. This sometimes makes the setup feel heavier than necessary and can affect performance or maintenance in the long run. I also feel the free version could include a more polished default cart and checkout experience.

Dislike

Since so many plugins can be bolted onto Woocommerce, it can sometimes lack consistency, especially when running plugins from many different vendors. I would recommend selecting a well established and well supported vendor for any expansion on WooCommerce's capabilities so you have plugins that work together, are highly supported, patched and tested.
