A powerful, flexible enterprise commerce platform that supports scale, customization, headless experiences, mobile commerce, and evolving architecture strategies.

    5.0
    Jun 15, 2026
Our overall experience with Adobe Commerce has been very positive. The platform has supported our scale and provide the flexibility needed to build and operate complex commerce experiences. It is feature-rich, secure, and highly customizable, with multiple hosting options and the ability to support both traditional and modern architecture patterns. We have been able to use Adobe Commerce as a full-stack commerce platform, as the commerce engine behind headless frontends, and as the backend for mobile application experiences. It also supports both monolithic and composable approaches, allowing the architecture to evolve as the business needs change. The platform is highly testable through automated functional, integration, and regression testing.

Adobe Commerce Offers Extensive Customization But Requires Significant Technical Expertise

    5.0
    Mar 3, 2026
My overall experience with Adobe Commerce has been intense in a good way. It's not a "cute and simple" ecommerce tool. It's not the "we're building something serious" platform. You feel the weight of it from day one: deep customization, powerful backend control, and the ability to architect pretty much anything your business model demands. That said, it asks a lot from you. Planning matters. Dev resources matter. Strategy matters.

Multi Store Management and API Integration Offset Upgrade and Performance Challenges

    4.0
    Jan 27, 2026
The platform is incredibly flexible and handles our complex B2B logic well.. However, the total cost of ownership is high die to the constant need for security patching and the requirement for highly specialized developers. It is a powerful engine that requires a lot of maintenance.

Performance of Adobe Commerce Across Market Features

Adobe Commerce Likes & Dislikes

Like

1) Strong B2B commerce capabilities and features e.g. custom pricing, shared catalogs, requisition lists etc. 2) High flexibility & customization with its API-first and modular architecture allowing for integration with other enterprise systems e.g. SalesForce CRM, SAP ERP, PIM etc. 3) Strong Adobe ecosystem and integrations with other solutions e.g. Adobe Analytics, AEM, Assets, Analytics

Like

It offers strong customization options. product and catalog management are robust, and integrations are powerful and reliable supporting seamless connections across systems and workflows.

Like

The strongest aspect of Adobe Commerce is its flexibility. it provides a broad set of commerce capabilities out of the box while still allowing extensive customization for complex business requirements. It can support traditional storefronts, custom frontends, headless implementations, mobile applications, and composable architectures without requiring the organization to replace its core commerce platform. We also values its ability to operation securely and reliably at enterprise scale. The combination of strong native functionality, extensibility, hosting choices, and API capabilities makes it possible to implement many different types of customer experiences on a consistent commerce foundation.

Dislike

1) Total cost of ownership (TCO) Licencing, implementation and ongoing development costs can be significantly higher than expected especially for heavily customized solutions 2) Implementation complexity Required experienced development teams and strong governance. Implementation timelines can be long if you deviate from the native out-of-the-box features 3) Upgrade and maintenance effort Version upgrades and patching can be resource-intensive especially for over-customized instances

Dislike

Some processes require too many steps which slows down workflow, the navigation can feel unintuitive at times especially when moving between functions and certain configurations are overly complex or additional time to complete.

Dislike

The flexibility and customization capabilities also create complexity. Adobe Commerce requires experiences engineering, architecture, and operational teams to implement and maintain successfully. Poorly designed customizations or extensions can make upgrades more difficult, increase technical debt, and affect performances.
