During our migration project over the past two months, I found BeyondTrust Remote Support very helpful in my work as a business analyst. I liked that I could securely access different systems without going through several logins or waiting for IT support. This let me check settings, confirm user access, and review how things were working in real time, which kept the project moving without delays. My experience with this was above my expectations, especially during crucial moments of our project. It made system checks and coordination with the India and Philippines team a lot easier. We are able to cut down on downtime during testing, and gave me confidence that everything was done in a safe and secure way before signing off, and hand over the system to business operations. BT Remote support really helped me a lot in my project.

The critical part for me was making sure our systems were accessible and working no matter what machine is used, and with BeyondTrust I didnt have to worry if it was Windows or Mac. The remote control experience was the same. I only needed to learn one way of connecting, yet I could work on different machines right away. This took away a lot of the complexity and let me focus on making sure the systems were running properly, instead of wasting time figuring out different remote access methods. It really helped me spend my time on the actual work rather than figuring out how to remote into our systems.

We like that our technicians can store and submit recordings to managers and that it comes in a ready-to-deploy virtual appliance that is easy to deploy.

The thre standout features that I love about Remote Support are: 1- Shell and System Information without customer disruption 2- Endpoint Automations allows for the ability to touch endpoints with no disruption 3- Ability to lock down permissions using Jump Groups and group Policies

The UX of the remote control could be improved, especially with the buttons and icons for features like remote copy or service checks. The buttons are quite small and not easy to notice. It would also be better if unsupported features were completely hidden instead of just greyed out, since this can cause confusion at first it looks like the function is available but not working, only to find out it isn't supported on certain OS versions.

    Jump Groups and Policies Offer Strong Permission Controls For Remote Support Management

    Remote Support has been a great experience. Being able to jump into endpoints and complete tasks both with the user and in the shell behind the scenes. The only hiccup we had was back in 24.1.1 when we had clients that went offline without notice and for no apparent reason. It was an easy fix since we use Tanium, we were able to have the service restart on-demand as needed. The automation piece has now been a game changer for us to perform mass jobs with little effort but still having visibility into who has completed the tasks. Overall, a really great product and a great experience.

    I have found that once a remote session is enabled, from time to time, key commands on the admin Mac are not translated on the target Mac. That is to say, CMD-w will sometimes close a window on the target Mac, and sometimes it will call up a quit client option on the target Mac. Sometimes, a CMD-comma command on the admin Mac will set up a remote logout on the target Mac. This is unpredictable. Remote sessions are a little convoluted for the target user to navigate to allow the admin to connect. It's a little awkward with clicks to establish a remote file send from admin to target and vice versa.
