In addition, Asana ensures we get different views depending on our workflow requirements - timeline for Gantt and Board view for Kanban. The reporting/analytics features of Asana make it irresistible.

We were surprised that despite it being 2025, it still lacked some basic functionality that other solutions have For example, can't customize workflows for teams well, can't update ticket status based on integrations, can't put automated limits on columns

I like the visual workflow capabilities. I like the cross-functional alignment. The centralized feedback makes Asana attractive. Comes with great resource management features.

We considered it as a candidate given its non-intimidating learning curve and boilerplate project examples. It was much easier to start a project in Asana The overall design aesthetic was way more pleasant to the eyes as well.

Simplicity with its overall UI/UX design. Teams are able to adopt the tool quickly and be immediately productive.

With Asana, there hasn't been pitfalls. Everything works.

- Integrations are not as comprehensive as other platforms - Pricing was not competitive - Great for simpler projects, starts to fall flat as you grow your org and the nature of how teams operate changes

Asana has a bit of a closed ecosystem where there is usually only one custom app for any solution available, e.g. integration with Dropbox. While there are advantages to this approach, one downside is that options are very limited. If the one and only integration available does not work the way you need it to, there are no alternatives.

With that said, do not let its apparent simplicity fool you, Asana comes packed with features that really help our teams to collaborate and work together more effectively. You can adapt Asana to how your teams work with its highly customizable workflow, and simplify your work process with automations. Its out-of-the-box project management capabilities are also rock solid, with different views such as calendar, list and gantt, so our project managers and team members can get the project information they need. Other features such as custom fields, dashboards, reports, and custom integrations really help to make it THE solution for our non-technical teams.
