Performance of Asana Across Market Features
Asana Likes & Dislikes
The three standout features are: 1. Integration between Asana and other systems like Slack, Google Drive, and Jira. These integrations allow us to seamlessly work across our task management and working/communication systems. This is a huge win for efficiency. 2. Comprehensive task/project management views and offerings. The number of views, ways to set up tasks, and ways to get quick views of analytics of task completions is unparalleled by other tools. 3. Automation. The automation features to automatically assign tasks to different users, bucket tasks that meet certain criteria, notify users of task statuses, and more make the project management process much simpler and efficient.
We considered it as a candidate given its non-intimidating learning curve and boilerplate project examples. It was much easier to start a project in Asana The overall design aesthetic was way more pleasant to the eyes as well.
Simplicity with its overall UI/UX design. Teams are able to adopt the tool quickly and be immediately productive.
The three biggest weaknesses are: 1. User-interface. Although once you're used to it Asana is very easy to use, the learning curve is steep and getting accustomed to the interface is very difficult. Our new staff members often take a month or more to fully acclimate to using Asana. I wish the ramp up was not as steep. 2. Performance issues. There are occasional performance issues that take longer than I'd expect to get resolved and recur over time. For example, right now I can't get all the tasks to load on the board without first scrolling down 3-4 times and then scrolling back up. I reported it, it was seemingly fixed, then a week later it was happening again. This occurrence is not unusual with Asana. 3. Asana is fairly pricey compared to other competitors in the industry. The pros outweigh the costs for my company, but the cost is regularly a point of discussion and a reason why we keep an eye out for other products that may meet our needs.
- Integrations are not as comprehensive as other platforms - Pricing was not competitive - Great for simpler projects, starts to fall flat as you grow your org and the nature of how teams operate changes
Asana has a bit of a closed ecosystem where there is usually only one custom app for any solution available, e.g. integration with Dropbox. While there are advantages to this approach, one downside is that options are very limited. If the one and only integration available does not work the way you need it to, there are no alternatives.

Asana Integration And Automation Enhance Efficiency Despite Steep Interface Learning Curve
Asana is a good choice for project and task management. It meets my company's daily needs well, allows for proper security and customization, and is relatively user-friendly. However, there are some features that Asana doesn't offer that can make it difficult to work with at times. - IT ASSOCIATE50M-1B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
Great task management tool that just works for non-technical teams
Asana is a great solution to manage your work, especially for teams that just want a tool that just works. Compared to other similar tools, some of the key strengths of Asana is its ease of use and intuitive user interface, which makes it the perfect solution for teams that are not technical, such as marketing and design. With that said, do not let its apparent simplicity fool you, Asana comes packed with features that really help our teams to collaborate and work together more effectively. You can adapt Asana to how your teams work with its highly customizable workflow, and simplify your work process with automations. Its out-of-the-box project management capabilities are also rock solid, with different views such as calendar, list and gantt, so our project managers and team members can get the project information they need. Other features such as custom fields, dashboards, reports, and custom integrations really help to make it THE solution for our non-technical teams. - GROUP PRODUCT MANAGER<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
Cross-Functional Teams Benefit From Asana's Flexibility, With Some Advanced Shortcomings
Asana is a solid and user-friendly work management platform that helps us plan, track and deliver work without turning every step or update into a meeting. We use it across product, ops and marketing teams. Boards and lists keep priorities visible for everyone involved, timeline improved our capacity to deliver, and automation helped us trim repetitive tasks. Great for cross-functional work and scaling collaboration, though at very large enterprise scale you may need extra governance and some third party tools for deep resource forecasting. - MANAGER, STRATEGY50M-1B USDMediaReview Source
Asana has simplified our Project Management and Boosted Our Team Collaboration
Asana has been transformative in the way we manage projects and collaborate across teams. It provides a clear structure for task assignment, deadlines, and accountability, which has improved both transparency and productivity. The platform is intuitive and flexible enough to handle anything from simple to complex projects. While onboarding requires some initial setup, once in place it becomes a core productivity tool. - IT Associate50M-1B USDSoftwareReview Source
