I like that it provides so many options. It focusses on all the important parts of SEO. I use it mostly for keyword research and performance. You can create tags for keywords that are all relevant for one subject. It's a really nice option to track multiple longtail keywords. I also like that you can check the performances of competitors and compare them with yours.
The best feature in my opinion is the backlinks analysis. It also sends regularly scheduled reports on keyword performance and ranking. Plus competitor analysis.
Semrush is great with accuracy. Our product's SEO footprint has grown by 60% ever since we started using Semrush.
The numbers you see in Semrush are not always correct, but overall they give a good indication. I don't really have much more to dislike. It's a good tool, but it's expensive.
Once you have the data provided by Semrush, there's not a lot in the way of contextualizing the information in a way that makes it useful. How important is it to rank for a particular keyword? That's up to you. Also there are instructions for how to do things on respective platforms, but the tools are not available within Semrush, which means you'll be bouncing around between sites and apps.
Semrush is probably one of the most priciest options available out there. This is probably my primary concern. However,, till date they have delivered what they have promised, though haven't entirely blown our minds with integrations and AI.
