Infinidat has really made storage management easy. They have developed a slick architecture paired with a super simple GUI. On top of that, the API and API guide are the easiest to use out of all the storage products I've used. We leverage the API's to do many of the tasks we used to do manually. They have now released SMB features that we started using. The performance is amazing - we can copy 14TB files, on to/off, of in just a few hours. This feature has really helped us with several business needs for fast and reliable SMB / file shares. In addition, they have released a migration tool that allows easy migration of block storage from one array to another in the same data center. It's very fast and easy to use. It takes all the busy work of creating target side hosts/clusters/volumes and does it all - then it migrates the data over live. We've been able to migrate several TB datasets in just a few hours. With this latest code release, snaphot technology is now offered and it's so simple to use. Infinidat has also made it possible to replicate these snapshots to other Infinidats for even more security. In addition, the Huawei team conducted a performance analysis of our existing equipment and provided some key recommendations. For example, HDDs have higher failture rates and lower performance compared to SSDs, and utilization rate of some mid-range devices has already reached its maximum capacity, which clearly does not match the requirements of our bank's digital transformation.Based on this, Huawei proposed a unified consolidation solution.First, we upgraded to all-SSD storage.This not only doubled the performance but also improved operational efficiency by three times after consolidation.Second, we upgraded mid-range devices to high-end ones.The upgrade in hardware specifications,such as controllers,significantly enhanced system reliability, achieving 99.99999% reliability, which means that the system downtime is less than 3 seconds per year. In addition, the Huawei team also developed a good plan for reusing our old equipment.Third, we implemented SAN ransomware protection. Both installing, configuring and using it went effortlessly, even though my use case goes further then 'just a NAS system'. I happily use it to host virtualized environments and docker images for (shared) AI workloads though the connected GPUs. It does what I need it to do and with some tinkering a lot more. Truly above and beyond.
