Overall, Elasticsearch has been a great fit for our needs. We chose it primarily for its speed and scalability. It has performed exceptionally well in handling the massive volume of user and event data that our marketing orchestration platform processes daily. The ability to perform complex, real-time analytics and fast searches on this data has been a key driver of our product's success. We've found the platform to be very reliable and stable in production. What hasn't worked as well is the operational overhead. It requires a specialized skill set to manage and maintain a large-scale cluster effectively. We’ve found that the cost of resources and management effort can be significant, especially as our data volume grows.Read all insights and reviews for Elastic Search

4.2
(37 Ratings)
Algolia has been a strong fit for product discovery and content search. The speed and reliability stand out, results feel instantaneous, which helps reduce bounce and keeps mobile users engaged. Out of the box, relevance is good, and features like synonyms, typo-tolerance, and query rules let us adapt search to how our customers speak (brand/model variants, accents/diacritics in Spanish, common misspellings). Faceting is fast, even on deep catalogs, so users can filter by specs without lag. The dashboard and Instant Search widgets have shortened time-to-value, and the analytics have been useful fo spotting zero result queries and promoting key products. Where we have had challenges: cost predictability at scale (records and operations can spike with campaigns), the learning curve for advanced relevance tuning, and the effort required to instrument events for personalization. We also had to invest in our indexing pipeline to keep product and content indices in sync. Support has been responsive, and having an EU region is helpful for GDPR. Overall, Algolia has improved search UX and on-site conversion from search. Our next steps include deeper use of query rules for merchandising, better synonym governance, and evaluating neural AI re-ranking to boost long tail relevance.Read all insights and reviews for Algolia
