Acquia DAM (Widen) Alternatives

I have used several asset image management products over the years for many different clients, but my favorite by far is Cloudinary. In my opinion, it is the most intuitive and easy to integrate in its class. Additionally, the support staff is very good. A misconfiguration on one of my larger clients early in the integration cycle ended up costing quite a bit of money in overages, but the support staff was super helpful and not only figured it out with me, but also gave me and my client a courtesy reversal of the overage charges which was greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if it's because of the way our company has it set up, but this is one of the more challenging CMS systems that I've worked with. AEM can be a bit hard to navigate, the system is a little clunky (you have to do things just right or else pages break), and it's pretty tedious to sift through. However, for large-scale companies with extensive websites, I can see how its system, organization, digital asset management functionality, etc. can be helpful.

We us MediaValet to manage all of our digital media, including captured images, videos, documents, and company essential assets that require collaboration and sharing across internal and external audiences. It's hard to manage this media from OneDrive or Google Drive because the functionality and the filters that MV offers us are more advanced - where we can control the meta data, add credentials of the author for each asset added to MV and update the versions one by one, where we can also access older versions of the media to check what and how the media looked in the past which is very essential for flyers, presentation templates or promotional videos for the brand. Our team members can access, share, and work with files without confusion or duplication, which has improved our overall workflow efficiency. Even new team members can pick-up things in real-time without missing anything from the past - considering the history is made available. Categorization + Filter + Searchability of Media is excellent and faster.

Bynder has greater improved the efficiency of gathering image resources for projects, both due to overall performance, but in particular the strong search functionality that powers it. By leveraging a DAM tool such as this, we are now able to narrow down from over 30K assets to less than 100 relevant ones with just 3-4 clicks and a single keyword - this is incredibly powerful! SSO is also a key benefit, further reducing the cognitive load in using the DAM.

Used this in my most recent role for asset management in partnership with customers. It was useful for highly-regulated industries and for assets that needed compliance review, signoff, and lots of eyes on them.

This application is very easy to organize, store and manage images, videos and PDF files. The file collections are publicly accessible for usage.
