It's a high performance tool that has a lot of information to offer that can be acted upon but doesn't present it in a readable/actionable way for an org to adopt and implement. I wish packet path visualization from source to destination and vice versa was available as well.

The product is good, consolidating my observability and security needs in a single place has done much to improve my capabilities for monitoring so much with such a small team. But the greater appreciation for Datadog has been the continuous effort in delivering new tools, improvements, and uses. Although I sometimes complain about how often the menu changes, it is nothing short of impressive to see how much gets added to its usefulness on a continuous basis. I also appreciate their effort to engage. My rep is continuously checking in on our experiences and needs, even though we are a small team and a small account.

Our company uses AppDynamics by Cisco, and we consider it a truly exceptional solution. It provides our company with deep visibility into application performance, allowing us to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact the business (especially for our core applications). Its real-time monitoring and actionable insights have significantly improved our operational efficiency and user experience.

Full stack alerting tool that does its job, but requires a lot of time and effort to set up properly and fine tune so you don't get overwhelmed with notifications and end up spending too much for log ingestion/storage. Fairly complex and it would be nice if it was simpler and quicker to get going and use. Navigating the Microsoft bill can be dreadful when you're trying to figure out what is causing your cost increases. Microsoft support leaves much to be desired.

It provides an excellent, unified view of our microservices architecture, but managing the underlying logging and tracing backends is highly complex.

Overall our experience with IBM Instana Observability has been positive as we have mainly been using it to monitor the server CPU, Memory and overall system performance in our environment. The dashboard is very easy to understand and the alerting works fine. I even had a section with the IBM during their visit to Hyderabad and learned so many features and labs sections
