My experience with ARIS has been very solid. The tool plays a critical role as the authoritative repository for business processes, enabling consistent process design, governance, and transparency across functions. The tool is particularly strong in supporting end-to-end processes, thinking and linking processes to risk, control, roles and systems. ARIS performs best in structured environments with clear governance. While it excels as an enterprise BPM backbone, it is less suited for quick, lightweight modelling or ad-hoc experimentation, and it requires discipline and trained users to maintain quality.

In our organization, igrafx has proven to be a flexible and lightweight solution that can be tailored to a wide range of management and GRC-related use cases. While our primary focus is on business process management, we also leverage the tool for parts of Enterprise Architecture and Risk Management. Working with the igrafx team has been very positive - communication is fast, straightforward and highly responsive to our specific requirements. The implementation was seamless, and the jointly developed API-Integration with our EAM platform was delivered quickly and with a high level of professionalism.

IBM Blueworks Live has been a practical way to get process mapping out of scattered documents and into a shared space that business and IT teams can actually work in together. Day to day, Blueworks Live feels like a heavy BPM suite and more like a collaborative whiteboard that happens to speak process language properly. Once key flows were captured there, onboarding new colleagues, explaining cross-team handoffs and reviewing changes became much easier than passing around outdated Visio diagrams or PowerPoints. The real value showed up during workshops: people could sit together, tweak steps in real time, add owners, inputs and immediately see the impact on the whole process instead of going back-and-forth for weeks over email. Our main issue was that critical processes lived in people's heads or in old diagrams that no one fully trusted anymore. Blueworks Live gave us a central place to document "how work really gets done" with clear start and end points, decision branches and responsibilites, so we could spot gaps and contradictions quickly. That clarity paid off when we started automating pieces of those flows: instead of building automation around assumptions, we used the agreed-upon models form Blueworks Live, which cut rework and reduced the number of surprises during implementation.

Especially in the Finance Industry the GRC component is a Special feature that helps to improve the internal Control System and produce a better data Quality in the end. Workflows are working well and can be customized to the Needs of the specific Company.

I use ABACUS as the main reference point to understand our digital landscape. It is the place where applications, products, capabilities and initiatives come together in one model. For architecture-related work, it provides clarity that would be very hard to achieve through documents and spreadsheets. That said, Abacus is not a casual tool. It works well when the data is actively maintained and when people understand what the tool is meant to represent. When that discipline is there, it is extremely valuable. When it is not, the information can quickly become outdated.
