I think it's a very powerful tool once you have well-defined marketing and sales processes, and it allows you to work in an organized way with forms and apply scoring, reporting, and more. What has worked best is the integration with Salesforce CRM, as it facilitates alignment between the marketing and sales teams and also provides a more complete view of the lead cycle. It's also useful for creating relatively complex journeys or nurturing flows without always relying on external development. On the downside, I would say the learning curve is steep, as some configurations aren't very intuitive at first, and sometimes you need considerable technical knowledge to unlock the tool's full potential. There are also aspects of the reporting that could be more flexible or easier to use.

We have had a very positive experience with Adobe Marketo Engage. The platform serves as our foundation for B2B marketing automation and supports everything from email marketing and lead management to landing pages, gated content, event marketing and all related sorts of reporting. We thoroughly appreciate the flexibility of the platform - especially in catering for the needs of a complex international organisation. Once a solid governance model, templates and processes are established, marketing teams can effectively and efficiently create and scale campaigns - locally as well as internationally. Easy processes can be made easy, while Marketo at the same time provides enough power for advanced use cases - so you can go as complex as you potentially might want to. However, this freedom and flexibility also adds a layer of complexity that can make some aspects confusing for new users. You really need to dive into the system to feel at home and be able to effectively work with it. In recent years, Adobe has kept busy bringing new features to Marketo and elevating the experience - most recently with the addition of the new Email Designer, Dynamic Chat and currently AI features. This is much appreciated, but also comes with some inconsistencies in the system (e.g. in user role management) that will hopefully addressed in the future.

We implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights to unify customer data across our CRM, e-commerce, ERP and support platforms. The overall experience has been very positive. The CDP capabilities are excellent for creating unified customer profiles and the native integration with the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, Power BI, Teams, Dynamics 365 Sales) is a major differentiator. The AI-powered segmentation and real-time journeys have significantly improved our marketing personalization. Some complexity in the initial data mapping phase but the end result was worth the effort.
