Amazon OpenSearch Service Likes & Dislikes
Relatively easy to set up. Easy to integrate with. Has a lot of built-in smart configurations (compared to open source).
Support by AWS
It supports automatic scalability to manage massive data volumes and unexpected workloads, making it suitable for both small and large-scale search applications.
Requires way too much hardware to achieve sub-second query responses, making it cost prohibitive for our application.
* huge gap in CloudFormation deployment, we had to update cluster then update CloudFormation stack. * challenge in hot shard
While the service is maintained, substantial work is still required to configure appropriate search indexing algorithms, query optimisations, and monitoring.

A great open source search tool!
Amazon OpenSearch is great for Kibana applications to analyze logs and help in finding issues. It's very user-friendly compared to elastic search, and the log search takes minimal time.
