Easy deployments - slot swaps allow me to push mid-day without any downtime. Secrets stay protected - Managed identity EasyAuth means I don't have to store passwords in files or worry about expired tokens Incredible uptime - We have never experienced an outage. Ever.
For starters its integration with github is really really great. It makes setting up CICD pipelines a smooth process. Another remarkable feature is its quick ability to allow setting up of custom domains with ssl in just one click which has literally made me a fan of it. The scalability is also a big plus point since we can scale from 1 to 10 in just a matter of seconds and that too on just one click.
Ease of deployment, concentration on the dev and the pricing. Once you have everything setup, youll wish you always had this option.
Autoscaling can be costly if not looked after. Logs can get very noisy. Portal settings get shuffled around a lot so it can be hard to follow outdated instructions.
There are few limitations that I have faced since I have started using app services from azure. Sometimes after a while for no reason the deployments on completion do not reflect, as a solution you just have to delete the deployment completely and do a new fresh deployment which resolves it. Another major issue is the logs support, it is very difficult to view the logs if you have deployed a docker image and also to provide access to logs we need to create separate users and roles and still they have to access them from the service which sometimes is a bottleneck for junior developers. Another confusing feature is the resource allotment selection which is not that great and can be made better.
Getting everything setup and making sure all your dependencies are external can be an issue. There is definitely some work to do going from on prem to app services.

Azure App Service keeps our enterprise reporting portal at 99.9 % uptime with painless deployments. We can focus on features and deployments instead of managing web servers. Overall, it's a rock-solid, low-maintenance web tier. - IT MANAGERGov't/PS/EdEducationReview Source

Great tool to configure quick CICD without the hassle of complex infrastructure
I started using app services so that I can easily deploy my microservices onto azure cloud without the hassle of managing the orchestration for those. App Services gives me an ease of setup and deployment. Also I do not need strong devops background to understand and start the setup, I can just refer the docs or learn with few clicks which is really great!! - IT Specialist50M-1B USDInsurance (except health)Review Source
Good service if you want to develop and publish apps very fast without security management
The development team in our IT department uses Azure App Service to manage their apps. We don't want to host those apps in our datacenter infrastructure cause we don't want to manage the infrastructure that will support those apps. With Azure App services, you don't need to care about changing hardware cause this is done in a few clicks on Azure. Before we used this service, Dev team has 4 servers only for them that we merged into 3 app instances on Azure. Since that, we don't have to perform backups, OS patching or security updates cause all was in the responsibility of Azure. Our apps are .NET, Angular and SQL servers. We were able to maintain the service cost very low. In Azure app service, you pay for the compute you use. As Dev doesnt work on all instances at the same period, we were able to shut down unused instance to keep the cost low. Please note that in addition that you can scale easily your app resources but this service comes also with load balancing, automated management and high availability. It will really suits your needs if you want to publish many apps without thinking of security and management. - Software Developer50M-1B USDIT ServicesReview Source
Azure App Service: Platform as a Service to deploy and host web apps and cronjobs
Azure app services has reduced our efforts in deploying resources for our different etl and web services. It provides Platform As A Service which runs in fully managed Virtual Machine and helps us in deploying our application without allocating any other resources.
