It's definitely not easy to use. The design is also not very user friendly.
From an end user point of view, the product just works - but internally Oracle had some struggles developing the software components I think. We couldn't find proper documentation on installing services and configuring them. Even a python script that was supposed to install a service was giving us headaches because of warnings and unintuitive errors.
