- It has been reliably working for well over two decades and its performance is constantly improving - Setting up the network and traffic path is much easier than Ethernet
Mellanox support is really great, quick and professional

- It provides a lot of CLI tools for understanding the network and diagnosing problems, but they have hardly evolved over over the years. - No native GUI or dashboard to show metrics - Managed switches are much more expensive than unmanaged ones, so it is hard to gain visibility into individual switches without using CLI tools
Interoperability with other network vendors. For instance, we failed to implement LAGG with Cisco Nexus switches on the other side as it was unsupported scenario

They remain the interconnect of choice for HPC workloads for the 20 years I've been in this field and there is on end in sight to their lead.
