Easy to check-in /check-out the data model. Publish the DDL after change Compare changes
The common data repository is a nice way to enhance data sharing. Impact analysis enables us to predict the impact of a process change to the wider organization before actually deploying changes. Futuristic data analysis indeed!

performance of the powerdesigner is slow while retreiving or saving changes to data model Its costly

SAP PD: Powerful data modeling tool with multi database connectivity
We have been using PowerDesigner for over 8 years. Thanks to the versioning feature it contains, it is an effective tool for your multi-user tools. It has multiple database connections to model data. You can simultaneously take data models from different databases and create visual designs thanks to its smart processing feature. Likewise, it can directly transfer the data models you create on the PD to the relevant databases. - Senior Data Analyst50M-1B USDEnergy and UtilitiesReview Source
