GlobalLogic has a wide range of competencies which helps when staffing across multiple technology stacks in a single organization. They pay attention to detail and their focus on understanding our business, chosen methodologies and tooling significantly increase their ability to provide members who are good fits within our organization. They excel at the operational aspects of client services which make monthly invoicing, statements of work and staffing changes efficient and dependable. Their management both on and offshore is strong and great to work with.
The customer focus and the hunger to deliver the best service is what I liked the most from the Global Logic Team, All through the evaluation process the quality of people and their skills and expertise was very visible in being able to align with the vision we have.
1. Billing levels are too tightly correlated with years of experience rather than demonstrated capability. While this works in most cases, it can occasionally lead to mismatches in perceived value. 2. Technology skillset limitations in some countries, so we use multiple countries (with different billing levels) to meet our needs. 3. GlobalLogic is focused on building and deploying solutions, not ongoing support. We needed our teams to support the products they developed, which required extra discussion and flexibility. While we ultimately reached a workable arrangement, it wasn't part of their standard engagement model and needed special consideration.
While they acknowledge the challenge and are committed to work through it, they are still adjusting to workforce changes introduced by covid which has lengthened the time it has taken to find candidates for positions and to retain existing project members compared to previous years. With the staff turnover, often junior candidates are pushed to fill more senior roles. Collaboration across multiple teams and time zones can be a challenge.
Areas of improvement could be in being more visible to the sr. management. Engaging regularly with Sr management not just on the delivery work but more on future and beyond. Being partner, any client would like to see and experience the depth of their leadership and strategies beyond just the area they are working with the client now.
