It is a unified storage solution which supports multiple protocols like Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and FCoE.. It has features like scalability which allow to expand the capacity of storage without any disruption. It supports hybrid cloud which supports automated tiering for both on-premises and cloud resources. It has HPE 3PAR StoreServ Management Console where we can manage the system through a web-based interface.
Supports replication-but breaks frequently Supports multi-array failover. This works well.
- Easy to install, own and upgrade. Running with the additional enclosure. - Support from 3PAR has been outstanding when required. - Built-in Data Protection, Encryption and replication.
It is very expensive for small to mid-sized organizations which have limited budgets. Initial setup and day-to-day management require a high level of technical expertise. Configuring advanced features like remote replication, QoS, and tiering can be complex. It has required third-party software or hardware for backup & Disaster recovery.
Extremely unreliable-we frequently experience controller failures and have experienced multiple downtimes as a result of this. Poor support-HPE seems perfectly happy with us experiencing hundreds error messages per day. Poor upgrades-HPE recommends shutting down your entire SAN to upgrade.
