It's very project-centric and great for the AEC industry. The resource and scheduling tools are great and very integrated.
It is flexible, detailed, and customizable.
I like that the data in deltek is always the latest and accurate, i'm able to staff resources and staff to work on our projects, and am able to manage the project financials by reviewing and issuing invoicing etc.
The user interface leaves a lot to be desired and the cost is fairly high.
Customizations are hidden in tabs and menus that are not intuitive. Detail is unmanageable and disorganized because of the unwieldy detail level and lack of intuitive hierarchy. There is a lack of obvious help features at-hand and proactively offered for new users doing common simple tasks.
Its difficult to customize, we need our IT staff to integrate changes that we might have in mind.

As a PM and end-user of Deltek Vision, I need a user-friendly software that supports me with quick insights about the status of my projects. Instead, what Deltek provides looks more to me like a back-end data platform. Sure, it's flexible and customizable and capable of supporting rich detail, but almost to the point of lunacy. What is sorely lacking is a set of intuitive interfaces geared to different user-types. This appears to be a software wherein you need to be a daily power-user and expert in Deltek in order to perform even the most basic functions.
