GFI works. I have been using it for over 5 years. If you need an affordable solution for patching servers on your network, for the price it is a very good value. I am able to patch over 450 servers a month using this software

I like the granularity as far as pushing out updates I like the ability to customize deployments I like the built in reporting
I like the affordability, ease of updating, not being forced to upgrade (we had issues with one upgrade and were told to stay on the previous version), and its ease of use. It has some flexibility to use as you would like.
comprehensive vulnerability coverage for a wide range of assets vulnerability prioritization based on severity, exploitability and potential impact. Remediation automation of many vulnerabilities ease of use and customizations is also a plus.
I wish It woudl be able to provide exact reasons for patch deploytment failure instead of a generic error
There are some enhancements I wish it had. Like I wish it would remember the last time period I chose for patching from the last machine. I wish scans were faster. Though it is possible I just did not dig deep enough to make it faster. It seems the latest install requires the app to have a reboot on occasion. Maybe a memory leak?
False positives can be an issue, and are hard to identify configuration and tunning can be complex if you want to get the most out of the tool the integration with third party applications is limited and can be drawback to

Good software for the right size company
We found the product to be lacking key requirements and lacking in performance on our large enterprise network, the solution was easy to setup, but due to the slowness and features we have moved away from it after a few years of use. Support was always helpful and fast to respond to any tickets we raised, but unable to address the issues we had with performance. I feel GFI Languard would be suitable for smaller companies, as it worked well when used at smaller scale, 10 servers patched at a time for example. Having deployed GFI Languard we found it could only patch a small number of servers and we needed to patch far greater numbers and required better push / pull controls from the management interfaces. With the limited number of concurrent patching activities we could achieve we had to replace the software prior to its software renal date. Agents deployed on the servers did have a performance impact the the servers, as you would expect, the performance overhead should be tested on different servers and applications to ensure its suitable as part of a POC.
