What I like the most is the platform ability to provide end-to-end visibility in complex data pipelines. With this feature, our users can monitor data quality metrics and perform lineage analysis to understand how data flows between systems. The built-in monitoring and alerting mechanisms help detect issues early before they propagate into downstream system.
What stands out most is the unified end to end data management platform, Having data integration, data quality, governance, and MDM capabilities consolidated into a single ecosystem
1. The platform brings a lot of data integration capabilities into one place, which makes it easier to manage workflows without juggling multiple tools. 2. It scales well when dealing with larger datasets, and performance has been pretty stable in most scenarios. 3. Connectivity with different data sources (cloud and on-prem) is quite strong and flexible.
What I dislike is the complexity of the platform. Because it offers a wide range of features, the interface and navigation can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for new users. Some workflows also require familiarity on it that only may not be user friendly for inexperienced users, this which introduce a learning curve. Also, performance and responsiveness may vary depending on the scale of data pipelines and intergrations being monitored.
The biggest drawback of Informatica Data Management Cloud is the developer experience and operational efficiency compared to the modern data platforms.
1. Error handling and debugging can be a bit frustrating. The messages are not always clear enough to quickly identify the root cause. 2. Initial setup and understanding the different services takes time and can be a bit overwhelming at first. 3. Sometimes the UI feels slightly slow or less responsive when working on larger or complex workflows.
