Navigation of complex and hybrid platforms for bringing the data together and the ability to run variety of different analytics and perform slicing and dicing of data for management reporting and business decisions is outstanding!
By design it can perform truly amazing feats of manipulation on relational data. I am impressed with what we can achieve despite the size of our tables. We have developed a few processes and products on this platform that would be very hard to emulate in Hadoop. It fills our specific need in that area very well. I am also impressed with the opportunities they create to learn about technology and best practices in the industry from other Teradata customers around the world. Those have provided helpful learning and networking opportunities for us.
The only Cons is the price rather than I could not find any limitations.
One could run into intermittent performance slowdowns when using ANSI-standard SQL commands
I feel like we don't know how to use it fully. The online documentation has improved recently, but it's still lacking and incomplete in many ways. We would like to see better documentation and regular product training.
