Symantec DCS console is user friendly and easy to understand. The modules are very strong for protecting your servers. It is more efficient and cheaper compared to other products in the market. IPS, AMD, IDS and FIM with zero day threat helps this to come out as one of the best products in Cyber securites.
We deployed DCS for very specific monitoring, we were told DCS could do this well and so far it has. We do not use DCS for an other purpose.
We like the good integration with NSX and that you don't have to deploy agent on any VMs. We like the real-time alerts about threats or bad behavior file manipulation etc...
The product releases a KMOD package for RHEL8/9 and oracle linux every month for a new release kernel it gets a bit difficult to upgrade kmod on each servers post kernal upgradation. Post upgradation it also required a single reboot to enable the configuration in banking environment where you have a 24x7 live servers it gets difficult to get downtime.
Product isn't very intuitive, upgrading was complex and required quite a lot of work on the back end.
It provides an orchestration feature that was a little difficult to configure. For now, we leave NSX handle this operation in case a virus/threat is discovered.

Great management tool to manage your physical and your virtual endpoints.
We use Symantec Endpoint Protection for protecting all our physical endpoints and Symantec DataCenter Security to protect our virtual datacenter. As our datacenter is virtualized, we could not install an antivirus software on all our virtual VMs cause it will drastically increase our CPU overhead. We integrate this product with VMware NSX as a third-party software that doesn't require to install an agent on VMs. How it works: during the installation it creates different policies tags on NSX firewall. For example, if it discovers some ransomware or virus attach on a VM, Symantec modifies the VM tags to "virus" that has a rule in NSX to isolate this VM. You have a dashboard that can monitor virtual VMs along with physical endpoints. It is a little complex to configure and we have not yet used this product to its full capabilities. - IT MANAGER1B-10B USDBankingReview Source

Symantec Data Center Security
With my overall experience i can say is the best tool for protecting legacy machines. To my knowledge this is the only tool which is best in protecting legacy machines i.e the machines which are no longer supported by Microsoft. We lock-down the machines with required policy and it dcs do its work. Building the policies for the different servers are very easy and it automates that would save lot of time for administrators. - Helpdesk Executive50M-1B USDConsumer GoodsReview Source
Aboud Symantec Data Center Experience
If bulk logging is enabled for the agent, the Event log file is uploaded to the Management Server where it is stored Bulk logging captures events to compressed log files instead of transmitting all events in real time to the databas e for storage.
