What I like most is that it was easy to get real, actionable visibilit without a huge deployment project. Configuration was straightforward, and once connected, the API securit features gave us a much clearer picture of our API exposure and posture. Being able to actively test and validate API security rather than just rely on static configuration checks has been a big win. The interactive service map is a game changer for understanding how services talk to each other in production; it makes it much easier to spot unexpected paths, risk dependencies, and blast-radius issues at a glance. Security events are presented with enough context (workloads, APIs, and service interactions) that m team can prioritize and respond faster instead of digging through multiple tools.
Contextual awareness of risk and appropriate number of alerts for things identified as risky. This goes a long way to improving the overall job and also provides a level of detail when something needs to be investigated further. Coupled with the many different integration patterns offered, it provides a holistic approach to security that I was looking for and never really achieved with other products in the past.
The Shift Left component is extremely valuable as it allows us to address our vulnerabilities at the source & drive better deployment practices. The Dashboard provides excellent insights & really allows us to hone in on our higher risk areas. We are also really excited about the SLA feature recently added as it allows us to track our compliance & provides a clear source of prioritization.
No product is perfect, and there are a few areas where Id like to see Upwind keep improving. Some parts of the UI still feel like a younger productcertain views require a couple more clicks than Id like, and there are places where filtering and drilldown could be more flexible. Id also like deeper integrations with a few of our existing tools so we can push more of Upwinds context directly into our existing workflows instead of pivoting between screens. None of these are deal-breakers, but theyre the kind of polish and ecosystem depth Id expect as the platform continues to mature.
Nothing comes to mind. If I have an issue it is not with this product!
There are a few challenges, especially around ticketing. Ideally we would like to have more agency over the way we ticket & how we attach tickets to vulnerability findings. Also, once you have the level of visibility you do into your environment & systems the data can become overwhelming very quickly. There are a few UI areas that could be better developed but there is high confidence that these are all already undergoing improvements.

Feature Implementation and Holistic Approach Address Needs in Security Platform Evaluation
From the beginning of our assessment, we found Upwind to be very well suited for our needs. Evaluating various other platforms left a feeling that there was a lack of good products in this space. We engaged with Upwind to try them out against other vendors we were evaluating, and from the initial meeting to trial, I found Upwind to be far superior in many aspects. We had some requirements that Upwind didn't support. However, they turned this into an opportunity to implement this feature for us to use. It was ready within a few months and works very well. It completely blows the other vendors in this space out of the water in terms of alerting accuracy and helping reduce fatigue. Other vendors had similar features, but they lacked the right amount of context and applied intelligence to depict the environment as it is in terms of security risk and detection.
