Bang for the buck is unmatched. We were able to put over 100 of these units across campus to replace some aging WiFi 5 equipment for a quarter of the cost of some of the more well known enterprise vendors. The performance is also top tier. With proper channel planning, we have almost eliminated any wifi issues after the install.
Easy of use on the admin-side. The recent updates have been a welcome improvement, especialy with the guest wifi management features. Hardware is actually really good.
Being able to bring a 48-port switch or a wifi access point online with a couple of clicks without having to pre-configure individual serials and licenses. It saves hours off deployment.
Support is very much self-serve and community-based. There is plenty of documentation out there, but if you need help you are pretty much stuck with forums and Google searches. Some features in the UniFi Network controller software are lacking compared to others, but it is free and never needs a subscription so you get what you pay for there. Hardware build quality is very good, but again, compared to others it is noticeably cheaper.
The software is unreliable, you cannot simply allow automatic updates. Whilst that is good general advice, with Ubiquity you can expect at least 50% of updates to crash your network and cause device and performance issues. QA really has to be improved. We still unfortunately have recurring issues where network performance drops massively for about 10 minutes a day, no software update has fixed this; the network is implemented correctly, loop-free, RSTP enabled etc. The issue is not on the ISP side. The support also leaves a lot to be desired. They're still unable to find the cause of our performance issues. Some options are still hidden in the old console, which means you have to flick between new and old.
When you hit a rare but critical bug in a firmware release, the lack of dedicated phone-based technical assistance can leave you relying on community forums.

Product Confidence Remains High Even As Support And Chatbot Accuracy Present Issues
Purchasing is easy.. pre-sales questions to the ai-chatbot did yield incorrect information, which I did correct the bot on. Not sure if it retained that corrected information, however. Support is a bit tricky, and definitely delayed somewhat. The good news is that needing support is fairly uncommon.
