Wide set of tools for polygonal modeling and NURBS modeling, which allows you to create complex and detailed geometries. It brings a large set of tools for character animation, physics simulation, and visual effects, and the results can be amazing.
The precision of its modeling tools is unbelievable. On the same note, the rendering capabilities are outstanding and combined with the modeling tools, 3D Max creates realistic output which makes it hard to tell what is real and what is made by 3D Max.
I like the robust modelling tools, the ease of creating detailed environments and the high quality rendering with Arnold. They are great and at the best. It is a very efficient visualization product by design.
Two only caveats when evaluating the product for our company: pricing and learning curve. It is a very powerful and complex application that takes time to learn about all the possibilities and settings.
This is more of a comment rather than a complaint or dislike. Given that 3D Max is a very powerful application, it requires a very strong and high-end machine or resource for rendering and modeling .
The thing I dislike most about the product is that the learning curve is steep for beginners. This can be resource intensive and requires powerful hardware such as CPUs and GPUs. The license is also costly.
