Excellent support and continued development. The product is stable and the quality appears high. We like how it has excited our user community (the people consuming the web published information). They are finding it invaluable.

The product is easy to setup and maintain. The Data Lineage portion of the product is top-notch. We have been looking for a product to help us create a Data Lineage map for several years and this one takes the cake.
Our main problem is that the tool is feature rich in ways that we haven't figured out how to best implement yet. It is lacking in small, specific areas: need better SSIS support with documentation of the individual BIML steps within a package, also need documentation of SQL Server Agent jobs, especially when TSQL steps are present.
My team in particular does a lot of non-SQL and API work. Ideally, we would like to have a more robust process for loading and updating these. Work has started in this space, but there is a bit more to do - that being said, Dataedo allows for workarounds for the same with manual intervention
While the product is fantastic, you can tell that it is new. The product lacks some functionality in the area of Data Quality and Data Profile. I'm excited to see what they have planned for the future as the product can only get better.

It includes many of the more commonly used connectors that allow you to automatically capture technical metadata and also ways to capture metadata from other systems that are not supported out-of-the-box. It does what a data catalog tool is supposed to do without the huge expense. It has helped us track business metadata through a solid data dictionary with custom field integration, data flow with lineage and impact analysis, integrated AI to help with the data documentation, and a business glossary for terms standardization. They've recently started adding data quality assessment features, which is excellent for ensuring our data is reliable using pre-built rules but also with the ability to create your own. Additionally, it integrates with Power BI, making metadata management more seamless. I have had a very positive experience with Dataedo. The platform is intuitive and continues to improve with regular updates that reflect customer needs.
