Very fast configuration of a complete environment in a few hours without coding Very high flexibility (many attribute types with many options for each) Objective prioritization engine Very visual display of data (mix of images, text, links...) Navigation by links with multi-tabs display in browser allowing parallel work (opposite from Planview for example that is single window with back and forth navigation and not visual at all) No fear to try something then to change afterwards as the config is flexible and fast. This is very beneficial for the users as they have often an idea of what they want but then change mind or would like some adjustment.
There should be some internal good and flexible reporting engine or the ability to integrate Rational Publishing Engine in a transparent way within Focal Point

Objective prioritization method, fast configuration without coding, extreme flexibility
Started by focusing on objective prioritization of future initiatives for one group of our organisation it extended to prioritization of different things in several divisions. Performing prioritization requires some data and thus extension to project portfolio management and, as projects are related to our products, to product portfolio management. Due to the high speed of configuration without any coding for most usages, the flexibility of the platform allows using it as fast prototype for different subjects. This has lead to its usage as permanent master data solutions which is not the initial purpose of FP.
