Rovo Dev Likes & Dislikes
I really like that it is integrated into Jira and Confluence. One of the things I use the most is the ability to rough-in details when creating Jira work items, then using the Improve Description function to very quickly make a polished user story. In the case of Epics, I love to use the functionality to write the epic then use Rovo to create child work items from the Epic. This is incredibly useful to me and my teams!
What I like most about Rovo Dev is how quickly it helps me turn rough ideas into well-structured, developer-ready tickets. It sharpens the acceptance criteria, surfaces edge cases I might have missed, and improves clarity without adding extra back-and-forth with engineering.
Everything is setup for you - there is little additional work required, but if you want to you can add MCPs or automate the hell out of it!
When I have tried to use Rovo indirectly in the context of a work item, I have not had great success. I tried to use Rovo to follow a set of confluence documents in a given directory to create a summary and some KPI numbers for the documents within the folder. I had to give up as it didn't seem to be aware of all the Confluence documents within a folder (which I had access to all.) I would have expected a tool like this to easily be aware of the tools' internal structures like document or file hierarchy.
At times, Rovo Dev can be a bit too generic in its suggestions, especially for more domain-specific publishing workflows. I occasionally need to refine or reframe prompts to get outputs that fully match our internal terminology and context.
Sometimes I wish for more speed. A deep integration with Office 365, under respecting the GDPR and privacy concerns would be great, since a lot of data is not located in wiki.

Integration Features in Jira and Confluence Show Mixed Results With Rovo
Atlassian is an excellent vendor. I am a Jira/Confluence user and administrator and I have been trying to integrate Rovo into as much work as I can. I would say my impression right now is hit-and-miss. There are some very useful integrations and some that frustrate me. - Product Manager50M-1B USDMediaReview Source
Increased Efficiency for Product Tasks Though Prompts Sometimes Require Adjustments
My overall experience with Rovo Dev has been very positive. As a product manager, I primarily use it to draft and refine development tickets, and it has significantly improved both the clarity and structure of my requirements. It helps me think through edge cases, tighten acceptance criteria, and communicate more effectively with engineering. - Director of Engineering50M-1B USDMediaReview Source
Project Team Support Highlights Contextual Understanding in Rovo Dev Deployment
Coding agents give you suggestions, Rovo Dev gives you understanding and Context - out of the box. Crazy qualified people - and a real bunch of them - where assigned to the project from Atlassian side, and they were more than eager to help and improve. - Software Developer<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
Assessment of Rovodev’s Context Management and Integration With Development Tools
General usefulness of rovodev in day-to-day coding tasks is simply amazing, especially the fact that it has a much larger context of work items. Additionally, the terminal client is really good when working with not yet supported IDEs. The review capabilities of rovodev are quite useful, but there is a need for it to do a better job of adhering to the custom instructions. - Software Developer<50M USDSoftwareReview Source
Accelerates dev workflow, looking forward to deeper Forge integration
My experience with Rovo Dev has been really good. The native integration within Jira is excellent, making the workflow feel very natural. I was particularly impressed by how seamlessly it bridges the gap between planning and code generation, allowing us to test and view changes immediately via the Dev Preview.
