Prisma SASE with Prisma SD-WAN Likes & Dislikes
In terms of reliability, I really appreciate the indestructible nature of an SD-WAN network built on diverse circuits. What's most impressive is how well it works out of the box with reduced need for implementers to master routing and switching
I like how easy it is with Prisma to connect remote offices without the need for any 3rd parties. I also think the cost is exceptionally high.
The dashboard is great for getting a view of all the appliances and events that have occurred. As well as the configurations, really like how its laid out and simplified the settings so that it removes complexity for installs, onboarding, monitoring and reporting.
The management platform Strata Cloud is highly complex, cumbersome, and confusing because it attempts to present an interface for too many Palo Alto products in one place. Palo Alto really needs to break the tool into smaller components that are optimized for each individual product while also elegantly integrating them.
This part is specifically geared towards Prisma-SDWAN. During the implementation with Palo recommended PS, it seems that the 2 PS engineers assigned didn't really know what they were doing. You could pretty much hear them reading the documentation as they installed which in itself isn't an issue, but some broader knowledge would have been helpful when they faced issues. This, coupled with countless backend issues that we had no control over, which then resulted in me having to fly to the same office multiple times, was a bit of a pain.
At first it was navigating around and getting used to the interface and finding out where settings were located. But once I was familiar with the interface everything started piecing together and made navigation far more intuitive. Colleagues were getting frustrated with the initial tunnel creation as it kept on failing and in the end it was a backend setting that had to be applied in order to get it working. Think that if this could've been avoided then it would've removed the worry of onboarding future devices.

Performance and Reliability Gone Wild
My company operated a traditional WAN built upon an MPLS network with backup Internet VPNs. Even when the WAN was well-tuned, it was difficult for a small team to manage well. Keeping backup strategies working was so difficult that we never had time to get around to making refinements like QoS. SD-WAN has allowed us to very easily replace a mix of legacy firewalls and routers with a comprehensive system that addresses the most important networking principals: Performance, Reliability, Security, and Cost. We are thrilled with the visibility and control we now have over our WAN. We also underestimated the high value of the system's ability to control and manage Internet access. This feature has become a necessity. - IT Associate50M-1B USDReal EstateReview Source
Integration With Prisma SASE Streamlines Management Despite Learning Curve For New Users
Onboarding process was much smoother than I expected once the correct config was in place. Prisma SD-WAN's integration with Prisma SASE feels far more streamlined than the previous multi-component setups. Overall really happy with the product - ENGINEER10B+ USDBankingReview Source

Platform Approach and Seamless Integration Drive Positive Experience With Prisma SASE
My overall experience has been positive. As part of the decision-making process my goal was to select a solution that offered a platform approach. We aimed to improve the user experience for our remote access users, by moving away from traditional VPNs. SASE emerged as a logical fit for achieving seamless integration & establishing a more secure posture for our hybrid workforce. Our evaluation criteria were focused on leveraging an existing technology vendor to avoid "best of breed sprawl" within our environment. Key considerations included the capabilities provided by the platform vendor, such as integration within our technology stack & with our endpoints. Most importantly, we sought a solution that offered a truly good user experience, where the majority of its capabilities were seamless for the end user. Key technology stakeholders, including Director of Networking, CISO, & CIO, were heavily involved in the decision. While there wasn't extensive business sponsorship for the selection itself, as the benefits are largely transparent when well-implemented, business engagement was crucial for testing. Our concerns revolved around cost & functionality. An outcome was the simplification of our environment by replacing legacy VPN technologies & reducing the complexity of endpoint clients. We sought the same benefits from networking & endpoint security that we would see from moving an application to a SaaS service, such as direct connections through a cloud provider. From an ROI perspective, it delivered value during my tenure as a user. The user experience saw improvement, & our technology posture was enhanced through the implementation of zero trust components. While directly quantifying monetary value was challenging, the solution did not significantly increase our budgets, which was a clear benefit. The technical value, however, was much easier to measure. Furthermore, the product scaled very well & aligned perfectly with our expectations for a cloud service. - IT Associate1B-10B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
Prisma SASE Performs Reliably, While SD-WAN Implementation Poses Significant Challenges
Prisma SASE itself has been great and fairly faultless. The issues were faced with Prisma SD-WAN.
