Number of customizations it offers is highly commendable. Data visualization with Spotfire is something I really liked.
The matching capability that could accommodate both data in the MDM and reference data outside the MDM
Tibco MDM has been deployed for many t=years and has proven to be a reliable product. The product is easily configurable and requires minimal support
I miss a good interface for Unit testing which definitely can be made better. Hierarchy management and data masking is something which is not offered that gives it a bit of downside.
No easy non technical way to search / profile data in the MDM Also, the Clarity tool cannot accommodate many of our business scenarios based on the volumes of data we process. Some of our business scenarios still have to be supported outside the MDM because the effort to use the Clarity features would take even longer.
Not so much the product as our implementation. We have not fully implemented Tibco MDM across all master data that has undermined our ability to get the most out of the product

Powerful product with myriad features, complexity can be overwhelming
TIBCO MDM is a highly capable and sophisticated product with a great deal of flexibility. The repository modelling tool, generated UI, customisable workflow, patterns matching, publication to our integration middleware, web services capabilities, and rules implementation are typically very well implemented. Guidance from TIBCO's consultants during the implementation ranged from good to excellent. TIBCO's support team has also been very good. However, implementing an MDM solution is a huge commitment and the complexity we have introduced has raised questions as to whether this product is overkill for our needs, especially given that we have only implemented one business domain properly, abandoned a second domain, and only superficially tackled a couple of others.
