Authentication and user management: It's phenomenal, I like it very much. It handles everything from social logins to email/password and phone number verification with minimal code.
Below are the features I like most about Firebase by Google - 1. Analytics and performance monitoring. 2. Cross platform support - Both iOS and Android and web applications as well. 3. Scalable Cloud Functions. 4. Authentication with minimal setup.
The amount of features it provides, being it: - Databases (NO-SQL and Realtime) - Messaging - Analytics The list goes one, but these 3 together made Firebase being the first option to pick for my Flutter apps.
Complex pricing and cost spikes: Its like a pay-as-you-go pricing model. It's difficult to predict.
Only thing that i dislike is the difficulty to migrate to another application due to Firebase being a proprietary platform.
One of the issues is the management of the No-SQL DB, it provides a simple UI but for more complex queries it is just not possible to do through it. The other issue is the increased cost for the number of calls of a specific service, it can be cheaper. Last but not least, some of the menus in the UI of the console are a bit cluttered, but that has been worked in the last years so I believe they are on the good path for making it better.
