Detailed logging and reporting features provide actionable insights into network traffic, and centralized visibility and control make it easier to manage security policies.
Familiar technology to on prem solutions.
Palo Alto Cloud NGFW integration with public cloud platforms like AWS and Azure is simple. It is a highly scalable and efficient solution. The ability to inspect and control application traffic at a granular level has been good in preventing threats.
High cost of living and housing. While updates bring new features and security, some users report bugs. Traffic congestion during peak hours. Limited diversity in certain neighborhoods.
Scaling just doesnt work. Too many problems and support is non-existent even if you pay for premium plans and a SAM.
Licensing and operational costs are high. Integration with On-Premises solution is complex. User Interface is complex.

AWS Cloud Palo Alto NGFW Review
We had requirement of expanding our application infrastructure on AWS cloud. So, for managing egress and ingress traffic of our AWS cloud infrastructure, we were looking for the best available firewall and load balancer. Our requirement for the firewall part was to have all the capabilities for supporting threat detection and prevention, strong URL filtering, SSL decryption. Apart from the support for the advanced features, we wanted high throughput, stable product. After lots of research, we settled on Palo Alto Next Generation firewalls. Palo Alto Next Generation Firewall have strong capabilities for threat, virus detection and prevention. Also, its URL filtering module is very much capable of handling all the URL filtering traffic flowing through the firewall. Palo Alto NGFW comes with different VMSeries models which support for different throughputs and performance capabilities. Depending on our throughput requirement, we deployed multiple VM instances on our AWS Infrastructure. Great option if you keep PAN everywhere, but cost could be killer here
PAN AWS Next Gen Firewall carries over most of the PAN features and integrated with AWS natively, but the cost is way higher than AWS native firewall.
