2022 (original review) - From an administrator perspective, IdentityNow is certainly capable of LOTS of organizational use-cases surrounding the IAM space. Overall, the tool has the potential to be hugely helpful with scaling automated provisioning and de-provisioning of identities, AND providing the ability to audit access.
2026 (updated review) - SailPoint has clearly improved the product. Both by making it easier to use and by adding new capabilities. We have also witnessed a shift in their customer relations and professional services. While initially, it was difficult to have a good relationship with SailPoint, they have dramatically improved and now provide what I would consider top tier customer service. They're now my favorite vendor to work with.

A really best in class IGA solution. Product X has all the bells and whistles but still needs to mature more in terms of GUI functionality as most of the deeper functionality can only be set using API.

(2022 original review) - The best part about this product is it's ability to act as a central identity management platform; hosting all identity attributes from various connected sources. It can easily transform and parse data for use in other tools. One of the main use-cases is taking data from an HR management tool, creating an identity based on available attributes, and automatically provisioning the user in Active Directory. This includes email, home directory, phone number, manager, etc. If a data source exists and there's an available attribute, IDN can automate it. (2026 update) - It's just simply versatile. With a bit of API, scripting, and Java knowledge, you can dynamically connect this this product to almost anything. Leverage it to automate provisioning, access reviews, and automated identity actions. As of today, it's saving us about 160 hours per month of manual work (i.e., because we were able to automate that much with it).
IGA feature are mature enough to handle most IGA use cases. e.g. LCS Management, Access and Entitlement, SoD, Certification and reporting.
1. The SailPoint team and their unparallel commitment to their customers. They are responsive, and their technical expertise is off the charts. Of equal importance is their overall professionalism, kindness, and encouragement. Let's face it, implementing SailPoint is transformational and a big undertaking and there are bumps along the road. Sometimes customers just need to hear the words, we are here for you, we will get through this together and they back up those words with action. 2. The product exceeds our expectations and is delivering results to our organization that have yielded measurable financial savings, largely attributed to the automation we have with the product. 3. SailPoint has brought an added layer of security to our organization in so many ways but to sum it up we can ensure that the right people have the right access to do their jobs and no access beyond that. And access can be in place on day one of their start date.
(2022 original) - The web interface leaves much to be desired. Until very recently, the ability to sort only existed in the search area and a few of the admin areas. The ability to quickly and intuitively see configuration settings (this is within the Admin portion of the tool) is lacking. It feels like SailPoint makes a great demo product, but one that is tedious and click-centric to manage within the UI/web portal. (2026 update) - The UI has all changed considerably. It's much improved from a few years ago. If you know where to look, the data is available. They've also included MUCH more functionality through the UI and made it easier to perform many functions that were previously only available using Postman and API calls. That said, the demo-focused UI is still my biggest dislike with this product.
Most of the deeper configuration can only be done by API.
1. The NERM solution, which is part of SailPoint and an add-on for non-employee resource management, is still in its infancy and maturing opportunities in its design. 2. It is a powerful platform and can do so much. It can be challenging to leverage its full capabilities.

My overall experience with our SailPoint partner is exceptional because of the people that make up SailPoint, from the customer success team to the helpdesk team, to the technical experts, and to those at the very top like the founder and CEO, who genuinely listens to the voice of the customer and who seeks out engaging with SailPoint's customer base when hosting the annual Navigate conference. He is there, he is visible, he is committed to his customers, to the identity space, and the icing on the cake is that there is no pretense, none. We have had our customer success manager since our implementation, over 3 years now. She is our partner and is someone who time and time again is there for us, is super responsive, gets eyes on our issues like the speed of light when we reach out to her, clearly, she is highly respected and connected because she makes things quickly happen. She listens to our feedback for opportunities for improvement related to the product or other areas and takes those back to the respective SailPoint teams. Team has been a constant in our SailPoint journey. We have also built relationships with some key technical experts in their architecture space. They know my team members by name. They have become like extended family to us.

Our overall experience has been excellent. After evaluating leading products in the IDaaS IGA market, we consistently found ourselves coming back to SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC). Based on our research and hands-on proof of concepts, it is the most feature-rich and mature offering in the IDaaS space.
SailPoint provides extensive documentation - now more accessible than ever with Harbor Pilot AI - along with strong training resources and an active, helpful community support portal. Their Gold Support package delivers significant value, particularly through the tenant onboarding program, which guides customers through everything from authoritative source configuration and on-premises Active Directory connectivity to CIEM connector setup and advanced features like access intelligence for creating and refining roles. The availability of "Ask an Architect" sessions, go-live support, and access to the annual Navigate conference further enhances the overall experience.

Overall, my experience with SailPoint ISC has been positive from a developer perspective. It offers solid identity governance capabilities and good extensibility via APIs/workflows and integrations, while the SaaS model reduces operational overhead. There are some pain points that are being addressed, such as Machine Identity Security features and Certifications, but I am satisfied with the communication and pace of the updates and am confident these issues will be ironed out soon.

Cloud Platform Offers Reduced Maintenance and Reliable Performance for IGA Processes

I liked the product in many ways. It's less complex, and does the work well. Since it's a cloud version, there is nothing much to worry about maintaining the application infra, e.g Patching, Updates etc.
We had a real issue with JML before the SailPoint implementation where Joiners/Leavers were getting delayed and though we had some manual automation in place, we had a heavy dependency on Line Managers to submit requests on time for timely fulfillment. Since we have integrated SailPoint with our HRMS system, all the workflows are now automated based on HR records and the required provisioning and de-provisioning triggers on time without any manual intervention.
We are able to simplify and speed up the process with less possibility of any miss in audited processes.
We aim to have this product to help us with JML integration and then App onboarding, Access Recertification, RBAC, SOD etc. We are mid way through were key processes are being implemented with great savings in required bandwidth with high quality.
I highly recommend SailPoint Identity Security Cloud for better ROI, process efficiency, provisioning on time, achieve better Identity governance and many more.
I would expect continuous support from SailPoint to achieve the further roadmap.
