The provide a service for a competitive price. The hosting set-up is easy to use. And very flexible. We are able to easily update our own content.

The service they provide is noticeably reliable - we haven't had any major or notable downtime issues as long as we've been with them. The team on Pantheon's side is made up of experts who are able to help us through complex processes. The web interface is intuitive, so we haven't been required to spend a ton of ramp up time training new hires who we grant access to the Pantheon interface.
Their hosting services are specific to CMS Platforms. They are still working on better integrations with code repositories, like Github. It took some time to get an Enterprise agreement that would allow for us to pay one flat price with some flexibility around miro-sites. But we worked through it to get a great long term deal.
The promised integrations are either not that good or are rarely delivered.
The billing structure is not always straightforward - we have had a few back and forth conversations about whether or not we need to be upgraded to the next billing tier. The built-in traffic monitoring tools aren't as extensive as they could be, we have had to supplement with our own tracking to identify discrepencies with reported traffic levels.

We are a Drupal shop and looked into several enterprise-level hosting companies that specialize in Drupal Hosting. We narrowed down our search to two firms - Pantheon and Acquia. We spent several days reviewing products, attending demos, meeting with sales engineers and very quickly we could see that Pantheon was a much better value and solution. Before we committed a single dollar, Pantheon sent one of their sales engineers to us in Athens, GA. He spent an entire day with us running demos of the platform with our code to show how the three-tiered environment works. After purchasing, he continued to be our contact for our initial deployment of 45 sites. We completed the deployment on our own in about two weeks but their real-time contact was essential to our success. Even today, I still retain a relationship with the original sales engineer and I cherish that relationship. Pantheon is full of real people who are committed to our success because our success provides a return on their success.
