Chronosphere Platform Likes & Dislikes
- Their customer success team is strong and really listens to feedback, gives clear indications on what they can address and what runs counter to their long-term goals, and they always follow up to ensure any issues or feedback has been resolved. - Recommendations are great, we manage the observability stack across a large number of teams and orgs and most do not have deep experience in this area which leaves us with a lot to manage. Tools that let us see the utility score of any given metric/label and give us the ability to create drop rules for those with no value allows us to respond in the moment and without a long feedback loop to address issues. - Quotas / pools give us flexibility to control and group workloads by both impact and criticality, allowing us to create buffers for other parts of the business that are less consistent with their sending needs and patterns.
It was very intuitive from my perspective and will be really useful for teams once adopted. * Easy to create a SLO SLI
- Live Telemetry Analyzer: I like that I can view each stage of ingestion of each metric, to understand why a metric is getting dropped or aggregated in a certain way. - rich alerting capabilities: flexible options, responsive UI - query builder: strong idea but has not been as useful as I expected for building or visualizing queries
- The current billing model is complex and requires deep thinking to understand the trade-offs - The cardinality model, while understandable, is painful to interact with - Platform offerings are increasingly dependent on using most, if not all, of their product offerings. This makes it hard to bring incremental improvements while working in a complex multi-vendor environment.
I don't think there's much to comment on the functionality since our org doesn't use it actively for our services. It would be nice if users can add customizations (cover page, just visual) to their SLO dashboard since it's their Service's health indicator, and people should feel a sense of attachment to it.
- limited search capabilities for aggregation and drop rules: does not allow for very detailed searches, and doesn't highlight the search term in the results. Makes it quite difficult to scroll through and understand the search results. - metrics explorer missing some features, e.g. sort order for hover tooltip, null value handling - sometimes confusing interactions of services/owners/dashboard groups etc: I have not quite understood the relationships between some of these ways to categorize things.

Customer Success Team Responsiveness and Control Plane Tools Stand Out
Chronosphere provides a dead simple solution for storing metrics in a way that's compatible with otel/prometheus; this allowed us to switch over with very little work on our end and allowed us to test various paths at the same time. Customer success and the support we've received has been great, they have listened to feedback on what's working and not working for us and actively partner with us when needed. - Software Developer1B-10B USDSoftwareReview Source
Product Receives Mixed Feedback Highlighting Both Appreciated And Criticized Features
Chronosphere provides a useful set of features, however in many cases I feel that there is a lot of room for improvement. Support is very responsive. - SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER50M-1B USDSoftwareReview Source

Observability made easy with Chronosphere!
Overall, my experience with Chronosphere has been excellent. The platform offers robust observability capabilities, strong performance at scale and a very intuitive UI. Their support and customer success team is responsive and knowledgeable, making onboarding and ongoing management smooth - Software Developer50M-1B USDSoftwareReview Source
Confusion Remains Between Alerts and SLOs; Customization Suggestions Provided
It was a good session. our company doesn't have a strong SLO culture, as a result I think it might've been useful to emphasize WHY SLOs are important rather than the Chronosphere SLO product. I think there was some confusion on what exactly is the difference between an alert and a SLO.
