Some things I did not like include the error messages received when a user cannot connect to a remote system - you may get the same error message if a user lacks rights on the target system or when the target system is not reachable on port 3389/22 from the resource broker. The smart rules are great, however could have more functionality such as the ability to match managed accounts with both a prefix and a suffix (it is only one or the other currently). For users retrieving privileged account passwords (rather than connecting to remote systems), this could be streamlined a bit better, especially if you have privileged accounts across different forests that are named the same.

Read Full ReviewThe cost of this product is high but worth it for the features that it provides. With time passage, DB will grow and some problems may happen with clients. For example, when we install OS, the power broker agent is automatically installed but still, computers do not report to Password-safe and we are unable to retrieve the password. Password-safe requires around 4 hours to connect the system to the network so everything can sync with the app and DB servers. They should improve this waiting period.

Overall, BeyondTrust Password Safe is a good PAM solution. We use it primarily for Windows and Linux servers. It does not grant any access to the servers but can act as another layer for access after an account used for access has become managed. It can rotate credentials in separate forests/domains as long as you have a functional account in that domain along with a resource broker.
