The product is very flexible, it has been able to handle our peak traffic times without issue, update statuses are clear if something is published or in draft mode, you can schedule an update for a later time which has been great for timed announcements. Overall it has been relatively easy to learn how to use and quickly become productive.
Once you learn how to use the product it is pretty easy to use. The configuration of elements is pretty straight forward as well.
We specially like three things about contentful platform: 1. Its flexible, API first content models lets our dev team integrate content into multiple channels without re-authoring 2. The editor experience for business user is intuitive with the apps and studio. 3. Performance and reliability have been excellent for us, with fast content delivery via CDN and minimal downtime, even during high traffic events.
It doesn't support search for the frontend without third-party integration. I don't know if this is a limitation of Contentful or how we built it, but I wish we could use the same space to trigger a deploy to stage then prod separately, currently any publishing in Contentful goes to all environments so there isn't really a way to test it after we went live.
The lack of flexibility and customization.
1. Pricing can escalate as environment, spaces and usage grow. 2. Content modelling for non-technical are bit confusing and they require onboarding 3.We can have more apps out of box instead of custom app development.
