Adobe Experience Manager Likes & Dislikes
1. Excellent content management with flexible templates and components. 2. Scalability for multi-site and multi-lingual support. We don't heavily use it now but a major selling point. 3. Integration with the other experience cloud products/marketing tools and the Adobe creative suite applications.
The possibility that it gives to the end users and the compatibility with multiple tools
Service - they are true partners helping from the high-level strategic view through the hands-on solutioning and education. Product - the native integration with the large array of products helps streamline workflow and reduce admin Product - the flexibility in configuration of the tool so it can really be customized to our needs both now and as we change (because we change a LOT)
1. Steep learning curve for new users who are not tech-savvy or not familiar with other Adobe products. And unless you put a lot of time into testing the user permission levels, because it is so feature-rich there are lots of opportunities for inadvertent access when not desired. 2. Cost of licensing is reasonable for us as a large organisation, but would be very expensive for a small company. However, we have needed constant development support which is expensive, and have been caught out being charged for 'content requests' as the metric. Adobe gives frustratingly little detail as to what the content requests are, so if you go over, it's very difficult to pin point why.

AEM Sites Offers Strong Content Management But Requires Significant Development Support
Overall the experience with AEM Sites has been really positive. It offers strong content management capabilities for building complex sites. The initial setup was time consuming but maintenance has been reasonably efficient. We use it for our primary site and integrate it with a course information management system to list course offerings. - Operations Manager50M-1B USDHealthcare and BiotechReview Source
Excellent product with exceptional vendor support, you will need a solution expert in house to maximize full value
We have an enterprise account manager & several product account managers - they are fantastic at communicating with us (and each other), being strategic partners to achieve our goals, and providing support. Best engagement from a vendor I've experienced in my career. - Talent Acquisition & Retention Manager1B-10B USDEnergy and UtilitiesReview Source
Centralized Content Control Benefits Contrasted by Complexity and Maintenance Demands
My experience with Adobe Experience Manager has been good because of its strength and its complexity. It delivers strong results for enterprise-level content management, but it also demands time, skills and resources. When used in the right environment, it proves to be a dependable and powerful platform. - NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR50M-1B USDIT ServicesReview Source

Advanced Capabilities in AEM Offset by Expense and Developer Dependence
if set-up correctly AEM can streamline content authoring as no CMS I ever worked in, has plenty useful features ootb and a good developer can do wonders to extend them; downside is that it's expensive and slow, with user documentation lacking basic information and from what I see no real appetite to implement community ideas
