First, the Compression and deduplication works well even though our Commvault storage already has inline dedupe and compression which helps us have more storage capacity. Secondly, high bandwidth for faster backup process we have not tested yet the recovery but for our backup it is seamless and we have not encountered any issues. Thirdly, the Active-Active Architecture which helps our backup system to still provide services to the Commvault environment even in the event of 1 Controller Failure as we tested this during our User Acceptance Test and hardware testing as we tried to pull out 1 controller in the controller enclosure and vice versa.
What I like is the security anti-ransomware capability and corresponding service support of this product, viruses and attack methods are evolving. Only the combination of the two can continuously support our data security protection. In addition, the high performance and good deduplication ratio are also good for us to save space.
What I like most is that the security features like WORM, Ransomware detection can help us harden our backup data, and the backup software provided by the device is compatible with our new platform requirements, which is very important. The performance is also really high for our big data platform.
The Scale-out expansion as we have expanded our production OceanProtect x8000 in our current setup we have multiple disk enclosures and performance seems to be reaching its limit, so we opted for scale-out expansion but as we did our expansion we had to create a separate storage pool as the scale-out expansion needs to have the same number of disks as our existing storage which caused us to reconfigure the storage as we wanted to load balance the workloads between the 4 controllers of the storage.
The management platform Devicemanager should be easier to use. Huawei should pay more attention to video data reduction. The maximum capacity of OceanProtect X6000 should be improved.
It is difficult to perform operations at the beginning, especially in the aspect of application integration. It is better to provide more operation guides or AI assistance.
