I love how intuitive the platform is - I needed to hit the ground running when I started as a new user to Iterable and it was easy to do that straight away, and then further build on my knowledge with the Iterable Foundations Course and supporting documentation. There are a number of ways to build emails, so if you're at an intermediate level or an HTML pro, you can easily build beautiful attention-grabbing designs. Testing your emails is really simple to set up and report on, which means you don't have to spend ages trawling through data, you can test and learn quickly and easily, to optimise your campaigns.
The journey builder set up is easy to navigate, making it simple to adjust, build and launch campaigns efficiently. The visual workflow clearly shows each step within the journey, which helps reduce possible errors and allows the team to understand the flow.
Of the tools we evaluated, Iterable was the most user-friendly and intuitive platform. We've onboarded multiple teams with varying levels of experience and everyone has adjusted well. Iterable provides a wealth of instructional resources and has fostered a strong user community. This ease of use made for quick adoption and activation - allowing us to set up and scale our campaigns quickly. The team at Iterable, from our CSM to the product and marketing teams, is very knowledgeable and receptive to feedback. They've gotten to know us and our business and understand why we need to do things a certain way, regularly offering ideas that work within our constraints.
When scheduling in different timezones it won't allow me to turn on STO, I have to remember to go back and do it. Heatmaps stopped working recently.
The segmentation tool is overcomplicated and difficult to understand. I've been using Iterable for over a year and half now and still have difficulty using it. I also don't really like the latest update made to the image section on Iterable, they've just made it twice as long to upload and change an image - I don't see the benefit in this update.
Iterable needs to better address the impact of NHI on email campaign metrics. 2025 brought some major swings to how NHI agents interact in the inbox, and behavioral filters need to be implemented for more accurate data. The platform is also lacking in some more basic ESP areas such as seedlists and list metrics.

I find the platform so simple to use and there are so many opportunities I'm yet to explore as we build our email marketing strategy. As a new user this year I've been hugely impressed by the Foundations course available to become Iterable certified- it's given me a huge boost in confidence in planning my campaigns and journeys. Planning, creating and reporting on our communications is easy, and the support structure in place means I have the option to use the extensive online support and training documentation, contact the support team or check in with my Account Manager should I need to. Powerful tool with good support and product updates, but can be complex and clunky
Iterable has very flexible functionality so you can accomplish complex, personalized marketing campaigns with it. The learning curve is somewhat steep, and there are some features that aren't immediately intuitive. It can take some creativity to figure it out, but Iterable is very powerful once you get the hand of it. Iterable's support team is usually pretty helpful and quick to respond.
