Performance of Workfront Across Market Features
Workfront Likes & Dislikes
- Connectivity and flexibility in reporting and dashboard use, to keep users' experiences less granular, and more streamlined in performing tedious admin work alongside their day-to-day functions - Consolidation of requests, tasks, briefs, etc. to alleviate multiple systems with numerous documents or processes floating around. - Staged review and approvals with multiple checks along the way to streamline creative and marketing workflows.
We have been using Workfront for almost 10 years and have been able to customize it to a degree that it works very well for our organization. Our instance has been held up as a showcase for other business units seeking workflow management. The product out of the box is limited, but with creative thinking and Fusion we have made the product support us in a very effective ways.
meaningful reporting using multiple custom data points that are relevant to our business ease of communication and visibility of projects/tasks across the organization customizable permissions that allow for strategic viewing/managing permissions for different user types and groups
- Lack of transparency into road-mapped features; teasing functionality, but dropping without much notification - Seemingly hoarded documentation and deep-discussion platforms, with little to no training or informational communities outside of the Experience League, which tends to not yield much in the way of issue-specific troubleshooting - Lack of physical asset tracking, such as equipment, room scheduling, or asset checkout. In a marketing production environment, the ability to schedule and track physical resources is a major aspect.
lack of documentation to support system admins, lack of documentation to support end-users, inability to capture and retain time stamps, and the many issues caused by Adobe improvements without clear documentation to help offset the disruptions caused by permissions misalignment, data field removals, and Adobe's unwillingness to allow us to test drive new products like Planning and AI.
sometimes the amount of customizations available are really overwhelming when it comes to user and project setup.

Reporting Flexibility Praised While Transparency, Documentation, And Asset Tracking Needs Improvement
I have used Workfront for 6 years, and it has been an amazing tool for project management, insight, and our system of record. It is a broad tool, and I often tell people, "If there's one way to do something in Workfront, there's probably three more". The ability to allow users to custom-craft their own reports and develop their own bespoke environment has been invaluable. Some pain points arise from a lack of in-depth documented training material (it is mostly broadly addressing the issues for which we're troubleshooting), which usually results in lengthy deep-dives into Experience League to try to glean information from community comments and questions, which often tend to not have responses from Admins, experts, or have clear-cut solutions to our common problems. - Group Product Manager50M-1B USDMiscellaneousReview Source
Ongoing Communication Issues and Documentation Gaps equals frustration for system admins
Adobe's communication is astonishingly poor. It amazes me how little information they provide, how reticent they are at sharing status updates of important matters that impact work on our side of the tool. We love the product, but abhor the business. With each product release we encounter issues that cause my team to be taken away from the work that supports our marketing organization. - Operations Manager1B-10B USDManufacturingReview Source
Extensive Customization Options Can Lead to Complexity, but thoughtful planning makes it worth it
Workfront allows for an incredibly deep ability to customize our system for all of our users. The level of insight helps give us information to make nuanced business decisions, and the ability to connect with other Adobe products makes workstreams flow smoothly. - Engineer1B-10B USDHealthcare and BiotechReview Source
WorkFront Facilitates Continuous Improvement When Implemented Well
I am a new user of WorkFront at my org. I've given it four stars based on the value it delivers to the organization. It is used at the biomanufacturing facility in Portsmouth, NH to capture and track improvement ideas. - Marketing Manager50M-1B USDRetailReview Source
Workfront Simplifies Creative Collaboration But Folder Navigation Remains Challenging
I have used Workfront on the creative marketing side to collaborate with graphic designers and account services teams. Overall, I have found the platform to be easy to use, especially for new users getting used to this type of creative proofing platform.
