From a traditional digital analytics perspective, there are only really 2 players in the market, and when it comes to enterprise analytics it's Adobe all the way. That being said Adobe seem to be working toward sunsetting their original Analytics tool in favor of a newer platform, and it shows in the development and support.

Usablility of the tool is outstanding, the drag and drop 'Workspace' is probably easier to use than most other platforms on the market even outside of digital analytics. While the data setup can be complex the power of segments and metrics and the ease with which you can build them (as long as you understand them) is unmatched by the nearest competitor.

Nothing more than its competition, it works well as long as you have the team support and administrate it. It becomes useful and dynamic once you have learned how to properly use it.

It integrates with Adobe's whole front end via Magento, AEM, and Adobe Target. Once users have been trained on adobe analytics, there's a significant amount of data available and the export options for sharing within a company are very effective.

Dislike

Where Adobe is working hard to promote its new analytics platform, the support and roadmap for Analytics is very limited. While the tool still outperforms its nearest competitor, unless you migrate to their newer platform it's likely it'll get overtaken in the future.

It was hard to get used to it. The way reports are handled is complex. It requires developers and it is very expensive.

Adobe Analytics requires a flawless data layer hosted on the front end. This is problematic because the maintenance work to keep Adobe Analytics working is significant. Errors in the data layer are not always immediately visible and there's minimal ML/AI systems to help detect when a deployment introduces a defect. The QA for new deployments is a large LOE for our front-end teams. There are also weird usability issues when analyzing Target tests. The dashboards to view Adobe Target A/B test results and progress can ONLY be accessed from within Adobe Target. This means you cannot easily save A/B test dashboards to visit later and cannot easily access A/B dashboards without first going through Target.

    Manual Setup and Maintenance Challenges Affect Adobe Analytics Usability and Data Quality
